Because one the new version comes around. I want the Scimitar to actually work correctly. You know what I mean!
Plz? I'd love a detection disabling code if at all.
modding wise that would be possible with the upcoming version. but where is the fun in an completely undetectable vessel that can wipe whole bases from the map?

For super cloak, Up to 16 Fed vessels could build a phaser grid, which decloaks every unit crossing it... that would rock

One question/request, are there ships which can only cloak for a limited time?

arent there already the rommie battlecloak ships that loe special energy while cloaking so that they have to decloak somewhen?

1 thing just popped into my mind, how will the Noxter detect cloaked units? Surely their technology cant be the same as the "inorganic" technology the other races use?

maybe they could connect their brains with a special relay, so that they could see the cloaked vessels through processing the data of some unconscious Feelings.
maybe there could be even a system, that could work like this:
A special noxter ship(maybe the scout) could transform into a stationary "Linking Node"
it has an aura, which gives all ships inside the aura tachyon detection grid, maybe the aurae could even overlap, so the more nodes, the more sensor range and after a certain amount even detection of "Super" cloaked ships.
Extra idea: the ships in the aura also get a aura, so that a a group of noxter ships with a node would be far more effective in scanning than a small fleet.
just my 2 cents^^

Or they could just have a dude that spits out stuff that happens to have tachyon particles in.

AFAIK, the Tachyon Detection grid doesn't emit tachyons, just detects the ones already present. I think tachyon particles show the presence of an Antimatter reactor, pinpointing the location of a hidden starship, but I could be wrong.

Couldn't always be antimatter... otherwise the Romies would be undetectable always

As I said, I could be wrong.
There is some equipment that it's always present in all starships from races that use cloaking tech (or may be just in all spacefaring races' ships) that emits tachyons, and the TDG detects those and use them to locate the ship.
My point was that the TDG doesn't emit tachyons, just detects their presence.
So, a tachyon-spitting critter would be useless for detecting cloaked ships. May be a critter with huge eyes/antennae able to detect tachyons, and later gravitons?

Actually, the original tachyon dection grid just dectects breaks in beams of tachyons sent between ships (TNG: Redemption II)

Oh. So it detects the "empty spaces" where ships, cloaked or not, are. Makes sense.

Don't worry Doca, it is not IMPOSSIBLE. It'll just be improbable to detect the Scimitar.
I'll give the Ping a low hit chance. And the detectors... you'll need an experimental one that I'll propose elsewhere.
The Tachyon will get 0 flat. The ping will get about 0.0215339 hit chance (I'll likely put that in)
