Imperial Luna Class Cruiser

Hey all I've been working on my Imperial Luna Class Cruiser and I am pleased to say the mesh is finally done (standing at 2611 polies) all that needs doing is its texture and then jointing it up:P

maybe get rid of the scoop at the front. what are you gonna scoop in space? space cows?

The sloped scoop in the front is the ram - the thing sticking out from under is either a Nova gun or... hm, I forget the other options  A big honking space gun

what game is this for?

ive never seen ramming in space combat lol

if the scoop at the front is for ramming the enemy, then why would a complex gun be there too, wouldnt that risk damaging the gun?

Ramming is used a lot in Wh40k, as momentum truly is a great enemy of space faring ships

The weapon is superfluous if you run out of ammo or can't use it fast enough and need to do something fast. All Imperial ships have armored prows for that reason

i see, so if the big gun is out of ammo u can ram as last resort? that makes sense.

i thought it would be an energy gun but if it needs bullets then its different.

I think this particular variety is actually energy based, but it is really not used that often. It's a weapon linked directly to the fusion reactors in the back of the ship, with the gun running down the entire length of the vessel. The ship itself is called an 'armor clad' for a reason

so it's primary use is ramming?

then whats the point of the gun. the first time u ram u lose the gun.

Nevermind, just looked it up - it's a Nova gun, so it relies completely on huge momentum to propel a projectile . The engines compensate for the recoil.

Nope, just ramming is a good way of crossing the T and causing disarray if absolutely necessary
