I think my biggest prob with the Y axis was the fact that the ship tipped up comletely vertical. I hated that... I want more realistic physics, so we use 2-dimensional combat for starters, once that has been overcommed then we might go back to 3D, but not so much, sure you could fly a ship over a turret but you can't fly way up to where you get out of a turrets range. That would just ruin it.
Rather we could give a height no more than the length of a medium range weapon, just for balance sake.
Though talking about the Y-axis reminds me...... you can still move your turrets up and down at different heights except there is no line to idicate the difference between your height and the grid...

You are aware space is neither 2D nor an Ocean, right? 3D is far more realistic than the 2D almost all games use.

You don't beed that 'balance' for 2 reasons; 1 - You still have to come into your weapons range to fire, and 2 - Turrets above and below the grid will do well enough.

Amazing Homeworld ships. In Fleet Operations ? Awesome. Maybe one day I start to make my own MOD for Fleet Ops. Anyway, right now I'm busy to finish another of my mods, like Wing Commander for Fleet Ops. I found some great models here for Homeworld 2: http://www.strategyinformer.com/pc/homeworld2/mod/22904.html You can download a mod containing the ships at Homeworld 2: Downloads / Details -- Strategy Informer. You only have to import them into milkshape (there is a plugin which can do that once you extracted them).

Ok, please stop necro-ing threads.

And please stop complaining about resurrecting threads. Why should he create a new thread for his post? There is absolutely no reason.

if he was adding input or ideas sure, but answering three year old questions is a bit silly. this is the 4th time and it gets old.

yeah on topic is fine, but it's gotta be assumed that if a thread's buried 3 years underground that its topic is finished.

Very nice. The Vaygr Flagship and the Mothership Pride of Hiigara.
It will good to see the Kadesh and the Turanic Raiders too.
In the novels, the Kadesh joined the Hiigarans and the Turanic Raiders and the Taiidans have joined the Vaygr.
The Kadesh people and ships still exist and the Hiigarans cross the Great Nebula but they don't defile the nebula because the nebula is sacred to Kadesh.
The Beast was exterminated and the Bentusi now lives in another galaxy. Their last ship in the galaxy was destroyed by the Progenitors, was the Great Harbor Ship of Bentus, the last of the Bentusi.
Karan S'Jet now controls the Eye of Aarran, the Movers, a Dreadnought and the Sajuuk.
The Homeworld galaxy is the M51, ohh god, too far from us
