Fleet Operations Light

Here's a question.  Should I base fleet-ops light on the Stock A2 system or should I base it off of the fleet-ops system?  This is an important question so think carefully before answering.  Please don't answer both unless you want to help me with the other version.

base it on fleetops, fleetops is a generally more solid game. its probably easier to remove features than add them

Okay, time for a progress report.  The ranks have been sucesfully removed.  But the game now crashes when the ship ranks up.  I believe that this can be resolved easily.

If the code to rank-up is still in, does it really count as ranks removed?

Are you talking about the code in the ODF files or the code in the fleet-ops loader?

If you are talking about the code in the ODF files, then probably not.  But I have removed that code from all vessels.  I think.

UPDATE:  Well, the good news is that the vessels no longer crash at the supposed time of rank-up.  The bad news is, the Borg have this floating error thing in place of the model.  I wonder what caused that?  The only things I removed were the ranks.  Well, I'm going to remove the Borg anyways so it really doesn't matter right now.

UPDATE 2:  I have sucesfully put in the alternate techtrees that allow (or disallow) players to build the warp-in vessels and/or call for warp-ins.  The "Standard Tech" techtree allows you to call for warp-ins, the "Buildable Warp-Ins" techtree allows you to build warp-ins, but not call for them, the "Super Warp-Ins" techtree allows you to build and call for warp-ins, and the "No Warp-Ins" techtree doesn't allow you build or call for warp-ins.  The "Free Tech" techtree also allows you to build and call for warp-ins.

Floating error is caused by the SOD of the unit missing or an emitter is used and not specified in the sprite files.

Oh.  I forgot that I deleted all of the Borg models.

PROGRESS REPORT:
I've done some testing with the techtree that allows you to call in and build warp-in vessels.  If you build a fed Nebula Class vessels, you can effectively use them to call warp-ins in constant with the Starfleet Command.  So 1 starfleet command is sufficient while you will eventually be able to overrun your enemy with warp-in vessels.  Keep up with those Nova Class vessels though as you'll quickly run out of warp-in slots.  During the test, I had 4 yards producing Nova Class vessels and about 10 Nebula Class vessels calling warp-ins around every 60 seconds.  I built an entire fleet exclusively out of warp-in vessels in a matter of minutes.

In the original fleet-ops, the Nebula Class vessel could call in a single ship once it reached the veteran rank.  Because ranks have been removed, this ability has been given to the Nebula Class immediately.  The Nova Class vessels in the original fleet-ops could give you two extra warp-in slots at the rank of veteran.  Because ranks have been removed, this ability has been given to the Nova immediately.

Hence the techtree modifications.  You have the choice of allowing users to call warp-ins only, to build warp-ins only (Nebula warp-in call will still work though), or to allow them to both call in and build warp-ins.  Warp-ins that can't be built are Ambassador and Excelsior I.

The following is a list I have compiled that gain special abilities and/or fleet-cap lifts on veteran rank.  The vessels listed hear will now gain their special abilities and/or fleet-cap lifts imediatley.  Only the abilities that are toggled by pushing a button on the interface are listed.  Let me know if I've missed anything.
