Hey Tyler,

Apologies if I'm posting in the wrong location but thought I would ask anyway,

Thanks for all the additional ships that you have contributed to Fleetops.  With the addition of the new Mod
set up in 3.24, I was wondering if you had considered making a compilation mod of the ships that you have released. I would love to be able to especially add the Prometheus, Excalibur & co in the one hit, sort of like the Buildable warp ins mod.

Anyway just a thought, I hope you consider this idea.

Maybe I'll look into it, though I'd probably need to use an external download site like Rapidshare.

Hey Tyler,

Sorry for the request, but can you make this compatible with 3.2.5 as I'm not aware as to how to import this into F.O now that the developers have introduced the new mod installer.

It is no installer, it's more of a plugin-manager.

Go into your FO-directory and open the data-folder. Then create a new folder named "mods".
In that mods-folder, create another folder named whatever you want to call your mod and copy-paste the content of Tyler's Prometheus-directory there. You'll have to add some customized file-copies (and their respective folders, for example if your mod changes the tech1.tt your custom mod-folder needs to have its own techtree-folder and the customized tech1.tt).
Note that unchanged files will be loaded from the standard-FO-directory and thus don't need to be included in your custom mod-folder as well.

After a successful creation of your mod, select it in the options after starting FO.

Thanks Red Eyed Raven for your post,

I have already successfully set up the mod folder in my F-O directory and have loaded up a number of mods through this method but they have been made for the 3.2.5 version. I understand that files can be changed when installing a mod through this method but am not sure as to detect which ones are affected when installing this way. I guess it's the lack of understanding this part that is going to give me a small problem.

"for example if your mod changes the tech1.tt your custom mod-folder needs to have its own techtree-folder and the customized tech1.tt)."

When you describe that the custom mod folder needs to have its own techtree folder and tech1.tt file,  do you mean that I have to just add that folder and file as sub directories to the main mod folder??

Sorry If I'm not quite following your description fully!!

You have to add them to the specific mod-folder in your mods-directory.

Tyler's Prometheus was made for FO 3.2.2, so the affected files that need to be adjusted are the .odf's.

.odf's are now found in the odf.fpq catalog-file, you'll need to copy it from the main FO-directory into your specific mod and add the data for the Prometheus there with FPQEdit.exe (also found in the FO-main directory).

The .odf-files will probably need adjustments too, but you can find them by comparing other fed-vessels .odf's with the Prometheus ones. That's how to learn it, buddy :)
