Hello again. My question is, how do I change the color of a beam weapon? I want to change the K'tinga's beam color to red like in ds9. (part of my K'tinga overhaul project) Any idea how to do that?

Anything that can modify TGA files, the guide lists lists several.

Gimp works the best for simple editing imo, but tga tool will allow you to use mspaint. :thumbsup:

I have gimp, so I guess I'll give it a shot, I have a feeling it's going to come out looking like crap though.

Edit: Wow, with a little playing around I think I got it down pretty decent. Now, for the task of putting it in the game...

Don't forget to change the glow... erm, lighting.  ^-^ Yes, it is an easy thing, especially if you use  the Modder's Toolbox, but it is also very easily forgotten... and red pulses casting a green light on their targets just don't look right.

I don't suppose sods will be as easy to manipulate...

On An interesting note, while I was digging around in the textures folder, I came across this...

klingon_ktingamk2

It changes the nacelle color from green to orange like on the rest of the klingon ships...Pretty cool huh?

It also changes the hull color, I use it with the green nacelles.

The K't'inga/Topmey is similar to the other Klingon ships, the Mk2 version is greener with more variety. Ignore the Klingon logo and text, those're my addons.

Could you attach the original texture? I kinda forgot to back-up mine...

Looks good, I think I would prefer the cyan nacelles on the regular texture though. Oh, my red disruptor failed hard, I have no clue why...Then again I have no clue what I'm doing.

if you don't get it to work, just ask for help! There are many around here (including me) who know what they're doing and would be willing to show you exactly how it is done.  :thumbsup:
