I would really like to start working day and night on a story mode for Fleet ops.
Or start a new story mode with fleet ops engine.

Is there a tutorial or something on how to set up missions? Do you do this through map editor? Or do I need a seperate mod program?
Seems like the map editor doesnt have any execute lines or anything I could find....
Any help anyone?

The only way is via installing and using Megadroid's Mission Mod: http://guide.fleetops.net/guide/modding ... ission-mod

Good luck :)

Its probably an example of what you can do, and what some people wanted.

god i remember when i use to beta test it, had my own little mission and everything...

Once you learn the lua commands he has made it isn't that hard but like anything you need to invest the time to learn it :)

I'm sure.
Wish there was an easy campaign editor. I can't remember what RTS game had one, but it was awesome. You just place the units and give them string commands and such.

maybe one day megadroid will make a frontend but i believe he is pretty on other fun stuff for flops now... Using really basic LUA code you can still create some pretty fun missions, especially if you cut out cinematics and other fancy stuff...

I remember my mission had all sorts with no too much effort... decloaking ambushes, text that appeared as hails, timers for when things should happen... even alliance changes... all good fun :)

Man, I'd like it if someone could help me make a campaign.

I even have a basic idea of what it would be.

Unfortunately, there isn't anything out there akin to the Age of Empires, Empire Earth or Rise of Nations style map editors, with nicely integrated scripting tools. We have to do it the hard way until some resourceful soul makes a front end for us. Even then I dare say it won't be quite as easy as the aforementioned games.

Not that that should discourage you :) The greater the challenge the greater the reward.

I'n not good with LUA. I can write an ODF with perfect persistion in seconds, but I cant code anything to same my life.

I can post story ideas and such, but, as with textures, I need outside help for the rest.

I admit, my spelling need some work, but that doesn't matter much in the ODFs. (Besides, the spell checker failed here)

What's c/p
