Majestic agrees and approves.

and what is this switch supposed to do? I dont think altering the voices is the solution to this problem, but offering an option to use the teams race for ship creation. why should klingons speak romulan suddenly

I thought that if you were to warp in, say a b'rel, and leave it as under the klingon empire, the voices it used would be from its own race.
It would be the same as if you had captured the ship.

currently if you warp-in ships it is just like if you would have captured the ship. the voices change to the race you are playing.
i get the point about race specific bonuses, however i hope you understand that this has not very high priority right now. especially since a (though not perfect) workaround through odf exists and a publicly available total conversion for fleet operations that wants to use this feature doesn't yet exist. i don't want to overload armada 2 with too many 'useless' (unused) commands.

I totally understand that you guys have a lot on and a lot more urgent things to do. You guys have really brought new life to A2 and modding as well and I would like to express that.
However I am working on a ENT era mod and this feature would be handy as I plan to have the Coalition Races (Earth, Vulcan, Andor and Tellerites) to have the ability to warp in ally support (eg, Earth can send a warp in request and Vulcan, Andorian and Telleriate vessels come in the warp in) and since they are allies having them warp in with their right voices would be helpful. I think it would be a little strange to have Earth voices for them.
This isn't a priority for me yet as until I have all four factions done I won't have use for this. But after I do I will.

Also could someone explain the odf work around for me please? It might help me out if I get all these races done and the new feature hasn't been implemented yet.

Hmmm I assume the workaround would be to make another ODF of each warp-specific vessel, specify the command events, and through the events.dat file, have the be that of the warping faction. Aka, if you want a Tellerite warship, you'd make a copy of the ODF, add the renamed command events, and have the events.dat file specify that they are teleritesAttack.file-extension .
I presume that actually should work in the necessary instances

Not perfect but a compromise that I could live with. Thanks again Dom, I appreciate it.
