Is there a way to override the 'Warp-Ins are Federation' default so that alien ships don't Warp-In as Federation ships? It's annoying to Warp-In a B'rel and not get the Klingon voices and race stats.

I don't know enough about this aspect, but I presume this might be related to when you capture a vessel and trade it - it retains the capturer's voices, regardless of the original crew. I'm pretty sure this is a bug, so if there aren't other replies in the next few days I'll push it over to the Technical section if you don't mind :)

vessels use the voiceset of the race the crew is from, not the race of the team they belong to. that's not a bug.

Warpin uses the race of the owner building for its vessels, just like yards. replacementResetCrew should work

In the Warp-In weapon or the ship? Tried that code, they still come up as Federation ships instead of Klingon.

As far as I know replacementResetCrew does not affect the events at all  :sweatdrop:

Vessels can end up using the voiceset from another race - it's a "feature" that's existed even since A2 (just try capturing a Borgie ship as a Romie, watch the voices change to Romulan voices, now transfer to a Feddie and you'll find that the voices stay as Romie ones...)

You mean the 'Give Unit' thing? I remember doing that before with Fed ships, does that work in FO? Doesn't seem to work in single player...

Don't know if Warp-In could use it, with it being the Yard-style and them already being Federation before transfering to you.

the voiceset a vessel uses is decided by the CREW race not the TEAM race. This is by design and intended.
Looks like resetcrew only resets the crew count at the moment, not the crew race, as we did not require this feature at the moment. But we will in one of the next patches, so an option shouldnt be too far.

sounds like there is something that is not working entirely right with the voicesets on replace. if the voicesets already got replaced (usually through boarding) on the parent (starfleet command) then atleast the created child vessels (warp-in vessels) should have the correct (team) race specific voice sets too. that is something i never thought about so i think this is more a bug than intended. i'll have a look at that.

This is very interesting as in my ENT mod Coalition War I plan Earth, Vulcan, Andor and the Tellarites to be able to warp in Coalition Reinforcements, which obviously uses different races so its good news something upcoming is in progress.

ohhh, i got it entirely wrong. i thought you still got federation voices when warp in through a >boarded< starfleet command as other race. but double checked that now and current behavior is as intended.
an enhancement is currently not planned. as workaround a copied odf (use #include) with an extra voice table defined would work quite well.

Passives and size-specific weapon traits won't work, though.

Couldn't the events.dat file be messed around with to make the stuff race specific? I've not looked at the Flops one, but in stock the string called was altered depending on the race.

Take away that function, and instead have something like:

KliDestroySelect
RomDestroyAttack
FedDestroyMove

as the events, rather than a standard 'DestroySelect' that is altered by whatever race the ship is.

May not have explained that well  :whistling:.

EDIT: Ah, I should read things first. As for stats, that should be fine as is - they're locked in the odf after all. Unless you mean boarding party strength and what not.

Race specific strings instead of the default would cause other problems with voices, like assimilated Klingon ships with Klingon voices or no voice at all.

Yeah, boarding strength and repair rates. I have race-specific bonuses just like the 'red crew' one for stock Klingons from stock. A Klingon ship with a repair bonus instead of a weapon one is as strange as one with human voices.
