I'm looking at taking out the shipyards for the federation and just having the Starfleet Command call in everything. I wanted to know what all go into making a ship come in via warp-in? BTW I'm about to add Admiral Zaxxon's Excalibur so maybe I can use his fed_warpinY/Z odfs for avatar specific ships? Oh and i want to turn my mining station into a small fortress, stronger and more powerful than a starbase but cheaper, how do i enable weapons? is it the same with stock a2 just add hitpoints for the weapons systems?

1. Extract the Warp-In file (or use Zaxxon's avatar specific one, that works as long as you change the SFC building accordingly).
2. Add the following code into the odf:
replacementZclassX = "kli_vorchaY"
replacementZclassXrandomweight = 3
3. X being 1 higher than the last number on the list and Z being what position (middle or side) in the 3 ships it is.

Yeah. Higher the number, the more common the ship.

i assume its out of 100 right? I looked at the Centaur and its got a 15. which means 15% chance of appearing

ReplaceWeapon - The Hitchhiker's Guide to Fleet Operations
This ones possibilities / (total of all possibilities for receiving a ship class replacement in this slot)

:)

If I recall correctly there are 100 'values' for the warp in there, so it would indeed by 15% if that was the case.

here is my idea for my personal mod that basically turns warpin into a shipyard only you don't select what you get. You have three types of warpin Standard, Advanced and Heavy

For Risner Standard support includes: Saber, Monsoon, Intrepid, Rhode Island, Akira, Canaveral, Constitution Refit, Miranda, Excelsior.
Advanced support includes: All Nebula types, ExcelII, Ambassador, Remore, Iowa, Hero and Centuar
Heavy Support includes: Excalibur, Avalon, Soverign, Defiant, Phalanx, Descent, Teutoburg, Steamrunner

Mayson would have the same setup only with his versions of certain ships and he wouldn't get Avalon or Phalanx

I would suggest adding the ships one by one to the warpin, and the warpins one by one to the station to help single out your crash.  wirhout more info, and my inability to read crash reports, that is all I can offer at the moment. There are just too many things that can go wrong with the warpins. :sweatdrop:  It is probably some kind of misspelled reference though. :sweatdrop:

Oh, and I think that the defiant should be advanced, not heavy. :D  Unless you have modified it of course. :thumbsup:

ok ill try that. here is the thing though i've already replaced the warpin files with the stock FO odfs, so they're back the way they were before i changed them. i would have thought a misspelling would cause a CTD once its complete. on the other hand consider the Defiant's firepower though, much more than typical starships. The ship i will have to modify though is the steamrunner to make it stronger and have defensive weapons which is why i put it in 'heavy'. Oh and Mayson would have the 'norway-class' under standard support. I'm trying to put starbase level weapons on your Excalibur but they won't work, all the weapons are in order though.

I plan on using the 'warpin' files for standard support, warpin-special files for advanced and warpin-strategic files for heavy i just have to figure out how to make them avatar specific

i looked at a stock FO sf_commandY.odf and my version. the only thing i can find that's different is the warpin_specialY on my version and that calls in Excaliburs. nothing else is different, i went and deleted my versions of the warpinA,E, odf so it should just refer back to the stock file correct? I wonder if my mod has been corrupted somehow

i think i've narrowed the problem down to my warpin-special files. when i removed the 'Y' from the warp-in-special.odf i was able to place the starfleet command. now i have to get the excalibur working again

ok got everything working again now im going to try adding Risner's saber-class to normal warpin
