Does anyone here know what the command line is for getting the map editor to write BZN files to text format?

what do u mean write bzn to text?

i dont see why the game would have the ability to turn a map file into a txt file. if it could then why wouldnt bzn just be a text file anyway, as humans can read it.

So certain features (like wormholes) can be modified easily that the map editor doesn't do correctly.

well if bzns were text files that would be lovely, but if bzns could be turned into text files and retain all functionality then why wasnt the bzn format designed as a text file in the first place?

I don't think text files can be used to edit a map; the text files you sometimes find with maps only lists objects included.

As I recall it makes the BZN file a bit more understandable and editable.

so why are bzns not naturally more readable? is there a downside to having bzns be in this more reasonable format?

Not sure - would have to ask Doca  :sweatdrop:

Load time is better as you don't have to parse everything in the file as a string. Also easier to write a loader as generally it maps more directly to how it is represented in the program.
