TOO MANY MAPS! with SAME name

imagine if u get a role where u have to act angry, just take a quick look at some of the fedrat threads on the forums to get riled up.

  Yeah I'll just go back in my mind to a "Galaxy needs to be buildable and x20 more powerful CLEARLY" threads

buildable galaxies would suck, imagine a fleet of them

eurgh, man it would steamroll. imagine multiple galaxy vets. all passing through shields and eating hulls.

in vanilla a2 galaxy spam worked quite well most of the time. it could be used in nearly every single player mission lol

it wasnt quite as powerful as sovvie spam, but cheaper, needed less crew, and didnt need that annoying vulcan station.

Considering that these maps are going to be replaced in the next version of Fleet Ops anyway with the most up to date ones, it makes absolutely no sense to version them in any case - like Boggz, I've heard TONS of people tell me "why don't you have the right version" only to tell them to get the new version... and then they ask me to choose another map because they are too lazy to go download it

  What really irks me about all this (which is why Boggz gets touchy about it) is that I feel this entire issue is based on the fact that people are too lazy to update things for themselves.  They want it to be spoonfed to them and Boggz is not here to do that .

  I'll make maps for you guys and I'll update them when they are found to be unbalanced and I have the time.  YOUR job is to make sure you have the up-to-date version that I will conveniently put in 2 places.

  Boggz does not = Optec.

  Boggz does not = Optec's patience.

  Boggz = NOT the person to screw with. 

Optec is the Tactical Cube of the Gaming world.  He can take ENORMOUS bitching and shrug it off.  Boggz will DESTROY issues where they arise because he is a flesh and blood creature, unlike Optec who is a calculator with a pulse and a friendly smile .

maybe a small program for updating maps would be nice...you could connect it to the astro map depot and put an update button in the program. This way noone needs to delete or c&p files. This is done by the program itself.

Wrong answer...If you want to make FO used by many ppl...provide service. Otherwise they will not come to us and will not stay. Many ppl have other issues than FO. This rule sounds hard but this is how things or done these days.

There is service provided.  It's called the forums.

See, you check them, and notice that boggz has placed an update in a thread that has unread posts (The red trek symbol )  You then download the rar file, go into your BZN folder, and replace it with the new one.   
If someone like me who knows almost nothing about computers can do it, then everyone else can, too.

  I'm not a dev, dude.  I'm a community member who wants to contribute.  Your logic is spot on, don't get me wrong, but I'm not a dev and it's NOT my job to spoon-feed you guys. 

 

  I'll make the maps, I'll balance them, I'll take the criticism from many of you and adjust them based on that, I"ll watch the replays and see how they work, and finally I will update them.  As icing on the cake I'll even provide two complete places to assess them, read about them, and finally download them.

Or just replace it with the sound of people asking to be spoon fed.

  Boggz has to apologize.  He's been a little testy lately both in-game and in real life.  I've been pissing people off in real life by accident and I'm sure that's trickling through here.  I do apologize ... Boggz' patience will return in due time.
