That sounds like a plan! You could keep the asteroids but maybe break them up a lot more (use the dust clouds and small particle clouds to keep the belt effect but allow for the illusion of "lighter terrain" in which a starship can fly through).

Try it out and see what you come up with...

Alright. New Version! 4.0! I got rid of the asteroid belts and eliminated turtles... so now you must expand to survive and to help combat the tech fest on large maps there are wormholes to help cover distance but they don't lead directly to opponents bases so you are required to explore.

the map looks a lot better now, but the size of it and the huge amount of nebulae will mean people with slower computers (robe, boggz etc) wont have fun playing on it. plus the nebulae can alter balance, the borg do well in the blue ones, while every1 else does well in the green ones.

i do like the map though, i think my computer might just be able to handle it. would make for fun games.

LOL, fuck you!! :lol:

  Actually my comp handles maps of all sizes and shapes just fine.  Most of my maps are loaded with doodads like asteroids and nebs and such and I can play them just fine.  Borg textures are LOTS of weapon effects are what I have the hardest time with.

i heard once in a replay that u had a slow comp? also u made a comment once where u included a picture of an old computer, comparing it to your current computer. from those i came to the conclusion that your machine was slightly underpowered (like the sovvie :P  :lol: )

and the descent. ive taken a look at the map, a bit generic but still left using a defiant to ambush a few ships on hit and run attacks :thumbsup:. good for such tactics, i think the borg are maybe a bit overpowered if the whole fighting between the sides deteriorates in a fireball with the nearby colored dust clouds offering up benefits.
