I notice the guide doesn't list the effect of maxextraweapons but I have a feeling that it might be to do with weapons like fleet supply on the nova.

Somebody else might have already figured this out but I intend to test it later today by fiddling with stuff unless someone beats me too it and confirms it first.

Yes, that to my understanding is the maximum number of extraWeapons that may be used on a unit at one time. However, as it has not yet been written into the gameObjects section of the guide, I did not want to write up an assumed answer, as it may have other purposes as well (since it is not really being actively used at the moment). :)
