Hi, Just trying to see how manny people use what kinds of graphics cards for their fleet ops systems. Please vote for every card you use on every computer that you run fleet ops on.

If you are using an "other type" Please list. Also please list if you are having any problems with fleet ops that you might think are graphics related

I'm just testing out a therory.

I use NVIDIA GeForce PCI-E, but before you think this graphics card is the best solution i must say, that the 8*** series for me was a realy big dissapointement, as the older games ( Shogun, Armada 1 etc ) can't run properly, as the card can't render the older graphics, olny partially.

i've used: 8600M GT, 9500M GS 950GMA and last but not least a GTX260 (216sps) .. except for the integrated core it runs smoothly on pretty much any of them... Of course the weaker notebook cards require me to lessen the grafics detail...  :ermm:

I use an ATI Radeon HD4870 1GB PCI-E and also have a Radeon HD4850 512MB PCI-E in my older system, both of which have no troubles running FO in max detail whatsoever, well multiple explosions onscreen at once causes a bit of a pause, but other than that no probs.  :whistling:

I answered "nVidia Geforce VGA" because I suspect you meant "nVidia Geforce AGP". There has never been a VGA bus, just ISA, EISA, V-LB, Micro channel and PCI for all kind of cards and AGP and PCI-E designed specially for video cards.

On GeForce cards, the number AFTER the series number (first number) is the number to watch out for for performance, the first number is just series, that meaning a certain size board, certain placing of the resistors and layout of fans and such

so geforce 8800, is 8 series, 9200 is 9 series BUT the number after is smaller, so in most cases a 8800 will be faster than a 9200 because 800 is greater than 200

the last 3 digits are the speed compared to other boards in different series

I have a 9500 GT, but there is a faster 8 series card (8900 with 1gb outranks this)

that's usually not related to the card but the drivers provided for it. since vista armada 1 runs great for me again (8800 gtx). under xp i had major artefacts and sound distortions when playing. i guess nvidia had to change something fundamental in their driver architecture when developing their driver for vista.
