Next playable race. When?

Please! Optec! Doca! I want to know!!! When does the next official playable race come out? Please, I've been so desperately waiting the day when the next race will be released! When is the next race coming? I really need to know! I want it, I want it!

Please! I want to know. I'll even settle for a race preveiw patch but I want to be able to know the next up comming race and when it is available.  I really want them races (especially the bio-ship like race).

I think the Noxter is planned for version 3, and the Iconians or Ciadan for version 4 along with some pretty big feature changes.

Doca has given the standard answer every modder gives when asked "When?". It'll be done when it's done.

Be patient. There is plenty in the current version to keep you occupied. I don't think you fully understand how much work goes into making a mod, especially one of this scale, so you can't understand how ignorant it is to keep asking stuff like "When's [subject] gonna be ready?" and "Can't you just release a bit?", so please, trust me, don't ask these questions, just show some respect and be patient.

Yes, afterall we waited (sorta patiently) for several years for V3 full to be released--and see how great it turned out. Optec promises me that they'll be continued updates and previews-but he likes his surprises too-so don't worry. I'm certain we will all be pleasantly surprised as usual when the news posts are posted.

QFT, well said. Some people think creating something as intricate as FO is easy... Sadly, they're wrong.

I have to agree with the "when it's done" philosophy. It would be different if no progress was ever made, but the Fleet Ops team has continually lived up to their promises and released a good quality mod because of it. For this reason the seemingly cope out excuse of "when it's done" works for me. In the past I've been told things that would show up in Fleet Ops would not show up for a long time only to have those features pleasantly released not even a week later. The mystery behind release dates really does make one appreciate the final product more.

As far as I know the Noxter are the next full race planned, though I'm not quite sure if they will show up in 3.0 or 4.0. I am more pumped up for the plethora of NPC races that were said to show up in 3.0

You guys make me laugh. 

I waited 2 years for version 3. Remember it takes a whole company of with state of the art computers about a year to make a game. We just have Optec, Doca, and a few others. Besides you need more practice with the races we have now. Be patient. At least it will be done. Just be glad for that.

Thanks FLOPS team for all the hard work and dedication, on your spare time I might add. It takes a lot of tallent to animate, code, create graphis, sounds, manage this site, and everything else. It takes a long time and a lot of work to do this and some people don't realize that. You're effort is dearly appreciated.

Probably is the Noxter. There was already a Noxter race to work on, while the others would need to be started from scratch.
