Well, wait a minute right there! First off, those two games were your first two games online versus a player.
Knowing that I am not new to this game I can beat you with most races, regardless of the race you are going to play. Also, you played a race which is inherently hard trying to counter a borg player. You went klingons. Micro-ing klingon ships in and out of combat is very hard to do, even for the experienced players.
And you were trying stuff out. As I wasn't fooling around. You wanted me to play borg. Fine, then I'll show you one of the strongest strategies they have. I'll gladly teach you how to counter the borg effectively, but don't say borg are imbalanced! They are actually one of the hardest races to play. Also you were unlucky with getting kills. The first two scubes I sent your with should've died, but you didn't follow with your ships. These are the small errors that will make all the difference.
So making a long story longer
It all comes down to having the correct counters and good management of your fleet.
You had the correct counters, you just didn't micro that well. But that is ok. You'll get better at it.
I had a long road of learning that myself. And I still have problems with micro-ing my ships.
We're not Borg ourselves
We're only humans :p

Boggz wrote:Yep, the assessments made here are pretty accurate. Neither OTP nor myself have played very much in the last few weeks so we both made some pretty glaring omissions. I made a few tactical mistakes, forgot to get miners back on my di/tri moons after attacks, and fought in the wrong place a few times. OTP neglected much cloak detect and suffered losses because of it.
Both of us made mistakes
Just got around to watching the replay, I gotta say rusty play or not was still a fun watch, but the BIG omission was scouting, it seemed noone had much going on. A few cloaked raiders hitting the Borg and there is a chance OTP would have been forced to pull back to defend, that could have given boggz a few extra minutes to rebuild.
That or OTP could have just crushed boggz that much sooner.
If I had to list a single biggest mistake in the game, it would have been that lone Neg'var that boggz rushed back to his secret expansion to repair at, as OTP I don't think had seen it to that point.

The thing with the Cehlaer rush is, you can't transition into ANYTHING else. You gotta keep building Cehlaer for the entire game and go to D'Deridex if you get countered. You can build a small yard after you have 8 or so Cehlaer, but usually at that point it doesn't matter and you can just keep building warbirds.
Also you can only do it in certain map positions. You have to be able to put the warbird yard at a dilithium moon away from your main, that will allow you to also cover your main with your slow-moving fleet. Otherwise it's impossible to protect the 2 Di, 1 tri you need to build Cehlaer at full speed.
Finally you need disruptor bombardment. Since you have no chance of raiding the enemy's mining, you have to reduce his fleet every time he attacks you. Disruptor Bombardment is the only way to get kills with a fleet of less than 3-4 Cehlaer.

Yup, he really should have either got the special and worked on getting more ships up, or gone mixed tech with that rom/klin ship that has the supply for attack strength boost, get that thing in numbers and you can ream stuff fast.

Doing a Warbird rush and building a small yard as well is a major mistake! Cost you the game...beside the bad micro/positioning from Rom...but nice to see some Yandon games up again.

One of those stupid Fedroll games again...I can't even believe that Yandond says "well player all players" in the end. There is almost no skill involved in double warpin + Int/Monsoon...if you don't start blaming ppl for using these lame strats then it will never end we will hardly see any good games.

I guess the players and tactics had nothing to do with it
Very few kills were made against the Feds for a large portion of the game due to letting Monsoons, Intrepids, and Warp Ins out of the field of combat with less than 50% hull - likewise, a pure spam of Leahvals will do wonders to reduce your total attack force.
