I wonder what Fa11out could have done that last game...give his money to the borg player?  'cause no Romulan ship can withstand firepower of that magnitude.

I wonder if 5-6 serkas could have helped.  For the Borg, maybe a sphere with beams and prime could drain the C-17's energy...

In this case the answer would have been to finish a second cube before moving out, all you had to do was survive the pink beam barrage with 1 cube and they would be done.  But I don't know what Romulans could have done.  A bunch of frigates is a badass raiding party, but still a raiding party.  They can't do anything to big ships.

The purp beam was not even used to full potential...however I am not impressed by Dominions players going B5+Perimeter+C17 just one of those OP strats. And Rom and Borg had some really bad micro at some points. Not the best match I have seen so far.

when u see the special b4 u get pink beams (first upgrade)  is when i put specials on medium auto so i could fire extra pink beams which helped vs the frigs  and could do one of shots on bigger targets that can be 1shot with the pinks

With a second look, I realized the answer would have been holding beam cubes.  Sure we all like the Tactical cube but holding beam modules reduce the damage from pink beam by 20% each.  So a full tactical cube takes ~105 damage but a triple holding cube takes ~40.  There's your answer to C-17 spam.  Also it can spam nanites almost indefinitely.

There may have been a lot of mis-micro and imperfect strategy that game, but I thoroughly enjoyed watching it.  It shows off the capabilities of the 4 races quite well, and has some good slugfests even if they're a bit spammy.

And what is the answer to B5 and Klingon ships? Only heavy use of nanites might be a solution...but first they need 130CC

Build a Diamond, it's cheaper.

You saw what happened to the diamond.

As Clintsat was saying, once the game reaches a certain scale the borg can't really build anything but cubes.  The CC and supply are harsh, but not impossible to get going and once they're up, they stop costing any Di/Tri at all.  I strongly recommend a recycling center, it can make a HUGE difference.

The Romulans had the Klingon fleet pretty much under control but he needed to split his fleet into groups and attack several different places in quick succession.  The only ships that could stand up in a fight would have been generix supports, big D's and Tavaras.

I don't like generix at all, but I couldn't go anything else, Norexans are just to expensive and I couldn't keep up with dominion macro

I think you did the right thing, Fallout :).

I also dig your aggressiveness

The Frigs were a response to the huge number of C-17's that can burn down large, expensive ships by blasting the shit out of them 1 by 1.  That's the right then to do!

On top of that you continued to expand and attack when you saw your opponents were turtling and not communicating well.  All in all I thought you did a great job ^-^

Not really, and I ended up controling his fleet with light use of the HWP and ping stations causing him to avoid my base/mining.

He COLD Have wiped it out with minimal losses, but he would have had to risk an engagement from which he could not cloak out immediately.

Boggz if Id been turtling, not using the turrets for a valid tactic, I would have had like 2 HWPs sitting by each moon, not two HWP+scout station in the center of the expansion.

I had just enough to make it were if he were to chose to do an actual attack, not hit and cloak, he would be forced to sit and fight (even if just long enough to get out of scout station range).

Note how he failed to do so, despite having the firepower to kill those HWPs fairly quickly.
