How did you hear about FleetOps?

I found the 2.0 beta of Fleetops by accident when I searched armadafleetcommand for interesting A2-mods.
That was in.... 2002/03, not sure when exactly

My eldest son found my A2 box squirreled-away in the closet with some other games, and he wanted to play it. 

I didn't have the patches saved on my old PC, so I had to go out and search for them again...and found a link to Fleet Ops.  That would have been around October/November of 2009.....I don't remember which version was running at the time.  I want to say 3.0.2  ...  but I'm not sure that's correct.

I stumbled onto it when I just did a search for A2 mods, downloaded seveal different ones and thought they were ok. Then I ran into fleet ops, needless to say I was blown away, it combined the things I loved about A1 and A2 itno one graphically impressive game. I jumped in about midaway through V2.0 and I never tried any other mods since. Fleetops is all you need!

hmmm...

Well, way back in the heyday of Beta 2 I stumbled across this mod while doing a random internet search for A2 info. I downloaded it and, needless to say, I was blown away by the quality of the game. Unfortunately, my computer died, and I forgot about the mod for a bit.

Skip forward a year or two into the heyday of 3.0PR. I actually still remember my first starship loss ever taken during this time: It was a Monsoon on a Nebula maze sort of map, and I lost it to 3 bugships. I'd say that this is the real time that I got into fleet operations on the basis that I was now interacting with the community.

if we're talking about first games i remember playing the ai and i was pissing around as feds just seeing what the game was about and what was available, the ai then rolled me with so many v13s that i wasn't expecting.

When Armada 1 and II came out I played them tirelessly and did very well online, usually winning and then SWO came out and I played that for a couple years until cu and nge and I quit all games for almost 10 years or so.. I got a new quad core about two years ago and was just looking at my old software in the closet and there it was still in the jewel case, Armada 2 and initially it was scratched and didn't seem to want to work, but I used Nero 5 (ancient as well) to burn a stable copy.. Alas, I needed the patch to make it work on XP so I googled it and viola.. here you guys were.. I've had a lot of fun messing around with it over the last yyear or so and making maps and all that jazz.

Moddb. I found the mod before I got a copy of the game. I like RTS games so I was looking up Star Trek RTSs. I immediately noticed the difference in graphics. That is what sparked my initial interest for Fleet Ops.
