Was the same for me. Around the time when 3.0 was a beta for donators.

I can't really remember, except it was before the beta for 3.0. I think it was via A2files as I may have been looking for the Armada 2 patch for a fresh install after reinstalling my machine.

I was showing a friend the Dominion Ultimate mod, (also on armada2files) and he pointed out FleetOps to me. This was shortly before the release of v 2.0. I was rather uninterested at the time because there were several pathing bugs and only 3 playable races. Even then however, the graphics were sufficient to grab my attention. And after v2.0 I enjoyed a few LAN parties with the game. BTW anyone else miss the old klingon seeker drone? The one that looked like it arced in the middle like the TMP era klingon torps?

It was Either A2 files or Armada Fleet Command and it was the version before the Beta version of 2.0 release. Used to download a lot of stuff from both places . I liked that Fleet Ops "played nice " with all the new content . Not like other mods , wich all the other mods did not play nice with each other .

I was browing A2files for mods and saw 3.1.4 on the list. I researched it, found the forums, and conviced my brother to let me use his email to create an account (I didn't have one of my own at the time). The first patch I came into wasn't 3.1.4, but 3.2.0, I think. I've been here not that long, all things considered, but a while nonetheless.

I remember that I knew nothing of DS9, so when 3.0 came out a few months after I started playing I was like "Who the heck is the Dominion, and why'd they have to take out the Noxters to include them!?"
Of course I didn't join the forums or play against anybody until everybody switched to Tunngle, I want to say around 3.04 or 3.05?

Another player of the startrek/general scifi browser game Space Trek: The New Empire recommended it in chat during a talk about games, so I checked it out. Never even got around to play a game with that guy, and now we are kinda on opposing fronts in that game anyway.

i bought armada 2 second hand for cheap at a local pawn shop (cash crusaders) played it and loved it, i starting looking for mods after i got bored with it and found fleetops on Moddb.com.
sadly the disk met an untimely death when it got caught in my cd-rom bay and got badly scratched. RIP dearest armada 2 disk.

i think i was browsing a2files just looking to see if there were any interesting mods. i found fleetops 2 computers ago (my old celeron desktop), i tried it, but of course i was much younger and more stupid, and the computer was old, so fleetops didn't run particularly well, so i didn't play it much. this was back when sfc was just a yard with those star credits and stuff and galaxy had saucer sep.
then i later got a better laptop and actually joined the forums, but had shitty unreliable internet, so sadly i stuck to offline play. when my internet became reliable i joined online, started posting to the forum more and never looked back. can't wait for these exams to be over so i can enjoy entire days online again.

i found out about it on moddb ages and ages ago. but didnt have armada 2 so it was more out of interest than actually expecting to play it. then when i finally found a disc i played through the whole game. only a few skirmish games and was abit disapointed tbh and then downloaded fleetops. because it looked alot better.
started coming to these forums to see what was happening then decided to join when i was looking at some threads talking about images and someone said something like "you have to be a member to see some of the images, sorry lurkers"
so i joined.

I was actually looking for mods out there and I ran into this one! Untill then, I can't get away from it. I guess resistance really is futile!
