This is mainly directed to the Fleet Ops team but anyone with any inside information would be welcome too. Just want to ask if anyone has any details which aren't in the guide on the future Borg storyline involving the Aur...err Guinan's race, forgotten their name atm.

el'aurians, the listener people.

i hadnt heard any plans to include them, but it might be cool. i like your sig pic ducky. show that fedrat some pain

EDIT: i dont think there is much more story about them though, i mean guinan told us the story in a nutshell, the borg came to her world and went a bit mental, spreading her race out like refugees. her race doesnt appear to exist as a political entity.

A Borg / Iconian Campaign, where you first siege the Iconian Home system thousands of years ago and then, far in the future, return with the Iconians...

Ah, I mistook them with the Iconian's, this was a quote from the game guide. Are the devs stuck solid to their plans for this campaign or could itbe altered? Also why did they decide to base it around the Iconans of all races? :)

And thanks, made the sig quickly when I saw that awesome artwork. If you want a borg sig just let me know dude :D

i think they chose the iconians cos we know so little about them, they can mould the iconians as they wish without stepping on too much canon. and they were powerful enough to warrant being included as a main race.

thanks for the offer of the sig.

We do know that the Iconians lost a war with a powerful enemy. The Borg are both very old and very powerful.

The fleetops storyline is based off of an rpg that the devs wrote so im guessing that they are pretty firm on the campaign

yep there were storyboards for a campaign, but there might be changes to them, as we are in a "year of change" in 2010. I will try to start summerizing historic events in the FO Universe later on this year to cover your questions :)

The el'aurians dont appear in Fleet Operations, but it might be nice adding a small reference. i will think about that

maybe el'aurian ships could have a listening ability, where they listen to the enemy talk and the enemy ship cant receive orders. :P

 They aren't. That's part of the problem. It took until now to finally get the Federation balanced with the other factions, as they've always been the favored faction on the forum, as well as by new players. If you look throughout the feature requests and balancing subforums, you can see how many times issues of the Fed's supposed underpoweredness has been brought up  :D

well,m so far i read in every 4thn or 5th post the word fedrats ... sounds not like they are liked ... at least by the ones that actually seem to be the ones here that are the "experienced" ones. I know that they are the strongest faction right now, even though not as crazy unblanced as in A2. But this kind of attitude that is show here on this forum at some places is somewhat scary, dont u think so ?  :shifty:

i think all should be treated same, and noone, also not a faction, called rats  >:(

There might be a few people that say that (and really, it's a joke off another show) but the overwhelming support lies toward the Feds and not against them. Don't kid yourself though, Feds (Mayson really) are pretty crazily unbalanced - the combo of Norways with Plasma Coil and early SFC provides a whopping kick in the pants even in the hands of very new players.

imagine changing the AIs buildlist so that it spams norways with plasma coil :P

it could be a new difficulty level called "mayson"

Ally yourself to Mayson against a human.

how about AI first spamming norways and sfc ships, and later E II's? ... "could" be interresting
