Thats my point Noctis, we shouldnt be pigeonholed into getting 4 ships. All ships should be viable in different roles, all equally necessary.

I don't understand your point: if the weapon effects were switched, the D'deridex would not need to be used in any game. Your reasoning was "because we've seen the D'Deridex use a variety of weapons from its uber-nose port", which is not based on how we play the game, but what we've seen in the shows.

As it is currently, I use all Romulan ships, with the exception of the Eresis (the Griffin I'm still trying to figure out though...  )

I'm saying the D'deridex goes unused now because its special isn't enough of a justification. Im saying the Norexan is spammed a bit much. Im thus arguing that they should be flipped and that even canon sources support the flip.

Why do you eschew the Eresis? It's not that terrible... (okay yea it is) thats another ship in need of help...
The Griffin is actually pretty good for mid game resource raiding.

Hence I suggested the D'deridex veteran be equipped with a Tachyon Surge special ability,, allowing it to negate tachyon scanners and probes in a specified area for a certain period of time, to bring late game cloak back into relevance

Thats not a bad idea... I like it! Sounds exciting! Sometimes i feel like i'm the only big Romulan fan sometimes :-P then people surprise me with really good ideas

I suppose no one remembers my and about 5 other peoples cloaking research idea... it would be so much nicer than just having an anti-cloak detect device

im gonna swich the eresis and the griffen, for the skrike and the chalier because they look cooler.
