For all 10 of the remaining people still interested in it. I was amazed when I first played the v3pr at how awesome it was. But enough is really enough, I've long since removed that from my compy since it is an unfinished game after all. It's the final version I want to see, but at this rate it will be out about the same time Duke Nukem Forever is...actually that will probably come first.

They need to just go ahead and come to a prearranged point and release it, then deal with any remaining issues through patches like any other game is handled these days.

No matter how much fine tuning they do there are still going to be issues, probably even one or two major issues too deal with come release day that they haven't foreseen. It's just time too bite the bullet.

A master piece is worth nothing if it never sees the light of day.

If you consider how many programs have failed because of glitches and that they have a whole team working on it and they are paid for their time while modders work on their own time while juggling a life outside of gaming and then have people come and complain that it isn't released when they want. Modding takes time and sometimes in order to do something right, one must wait and let those who are working do their job at their pace so they can accomplish their task with as few glitches as possible. And when given the time they need, I'm sure it will be well worth the wait.

Quite frankly, I'm not waiting with baited breath for Fleet Ops V3... I didn't even download the PR release untill VERY late in the piece (i.e. less than a year ago) and if V3 is never released, well, I haven't lost anything by taking a few minutes out from my day to check this website for updates...

So, yea, I'd say feel free to take your time Fleet Ops team...

Good grief. I posted a thread with a similar topic a few months ago and it ended in fireworks ... and being locked (which was not my intention; I just wanted an honest poll). Can we just agree to stop worrying about when FO will come out and stop wondering in what form it will be released (patches etc.) and just wait for it (without complaining)?  :sweatdrop:

This isn't complaining, but the FO team aren't the only people to have invested in this project. All of us here have, not with physical contributions but with playtesting, suggestions and support.

We love this project otherwise we wouldn't still be here, but it's got to the point long ago where supporting this game required blind faith.

The FO team continually add things that need to be changed, they won't post any kind of release date and they expect us to all be strung along and stay loyal to the project on faith in them, alone.

My initial post wasn't knocking them for not releasing it, but encouraging them to do so, we've rewarded them with support for their hard work (with they deserve), and in fairness to everyone who's supported the project for years I think it's only right that everyone is rewarded for sticking with something which has no guarantee of an end product.

Supporting this game is like being part of a religion, we're putting all our faith in something with no proof that there's ever going to be something at the end.

Fleet Operations will be released. Version 3 and more
v3 is on a good way, no reason to worry - the last few units are in the works

The way our todo list works might have been misunderstood. actually no real big task has been added since a few month. the new tasks that did appear were just larger tasks that have been split up to keep better track of them, or urgent tasks that have been moved to critical, cause they are currently about to be done. Some times - while making test games - we use the todo list as a notepad to note down glitches and bugs to fix, but they usually don't last long.

Don't worry if the tasks counter seems to go up from one day to the other, thats no fatal bug or a planing mistake made by us, its just the way how it works  ^-^
we know that the development time of Fleet Operations was longer then expected, but please be patient and give us a little more time. We invest all our energy to bring you Fleet Operations v3 as fast as possible!  ^-^

TO all of the  folks who  complain  FO PR.V#3 is taking too long . I have a simple question.  "Do you want some Cheese with that whine?!"  The FO developers are not your personal game programmer team . they do this for and as a hobby . I  think they deserve  the ability to have a  personal life. So if you think  it is easy and  you can do better.  Try Reprogramming a game to do thing it was never intended to do. Try creating mind blowing graphics, and  creating a great sound track in you spare time.  I challange you to take Star Trek "New  Worlds "  game and totallty  make it playable  from the gross waste of plastic  to a highly bitchin game .Till then  ZIP IT!~

Wow, there's some comic relief after all this...argument, lol. "TO all of the..." Is that all that was supposed to be? Or was there more....lol.

Seriously, was there supposed to be something else there?

i've been to forums on various mods for many games. all i can say is: as long as the bugcount is moving, it doesn't really matter in which direction it goes. i'd be more worried if the count didn't go up that often. Usually changing something, weather it’s a bug fix or game improvements of some kind. fixing one thing usually causes at least one more bug, but more likely several more. Just my $.02

*kneels before Optec*

Hail to thee, one of the Great, one of the Makers, my faith still lies with you, my heart is with you!
Don't listen to the heretics, they shall burn in the cleansing Fires of the purging faith that all surrounds us. that is in all of us! That would be a kind of blind faith

Highly appreciate the response Optec, it comparison to games companies it's very very good of you to both post updates and respond to criticism. Thanks for the explanation and reassurance.
