I wonder if they'll talk about some of the stuff they've just completed in the next news post...
Glad to see progress is definitely being made. It's like watching a progress bar fill up for something installing that takes a long time: I get all jumpy when it nears the end!

I still implore them to fix the Federation computer voice (i.e. replace the atrocious stoned sounding Arm 2 computer voice-set with the Arm 1 computer voice-set)... I'll be that disapointed if they don't, and I may have to boycott playing as the Federation, if not the entire mod as a whole... Yes people, that's how much that stoned Arm 2 computer voice pisses me off... >:(

What computer voice? When your selecting ships or in the menus?

To be honest, if this is the only problem you have, I'm envying you.

QFT!

I actually have no idea what the English Fed computer voice is like, but I'd rather have solid gameplay than awesome voice acting ;)

Yea, just the background voice that says things like 'starship complete', 'enemy engaged' and 'station construction commencing'...

Yes, but you see all they'd have to do would be to swap out the current voice files (the Armada 2 computer voice) for their Arm 1 counterparts, a task that took me about five to ten minutes to do for the pr release (but rendered me unable to play multiplayer games)...

And as a matter of fact, the Klingon and Romulan background voice-overs (who tell you those same things, like 'enemy engaged' and what-not) are from the Arm 1 voicesets...

So yea, I'd really appreciate it if the Fleet Ops team could do this one little thing on my behalf... I am still begging... :(

Not all of them (though I'd pefer it if all scout, construction and mining ship voice-sets were swapped out for their Arm 1 counterparts as well), just the Federation computer voice!!! That's the one voice-set I simply cannot put up with... >:(

install armada1;
locate the sound files;
backup the old sound files from your flops folder;
copy the sound files from a1 to your flops folder;
run a test if you can still join a normal game;

I know from personal experience that h4x0ring the music files allows you still to play with other people who used the shipped ones;
so my guess is that you can do the same with the ingame voice as well; you might have to rename some of them;

Yeah hopefully they won't be there for long, the TMP Excelsior task has been moved to critical tasks so maybe we'll see that soon as well.

Well they've revealed exactly what the bugfixes in question are now (one interface related and one weapon related)...
