I get what you're saying. I'm not so much talking from a canon perspective as I am a gameplay one. It is both rare to get a Miranda-II or an officer level saber. All I was saying was that the play style easily seems ubiquitous. There really aren't any ships that become weaker against cruisers and battleships because of their pulse weaponry, save the canaveral. But it still has its phaser, so it's still doing some of its damage unchanged. It's part of why I think the feds are as strong as they are, but that's for another thread I plan to make sometime.

I think it should be a support vessel, that replaces the Canaveral :thumbsup:

Those things you listed are all special weapons. Quantum pulses are standard weapons that just aren't used much. Light Tri's, Magnan Phaser Arrays, Double Layer Shields are all either special weapons for a single ship or a passive / rank up passive.

Quantum pulses are just a standard weapon that few ships have.

@boggz, is there an echo, i said all of that in my post

that the quantum pulse isnt designed specfically for a single ship design, and will eventually be a meat and taters weapon, like photons and quantums. but are restricted for now. its already used for 3 ships which means its not impossibly rare, it is uncommon cos its new, but you do see them around.

who am i to talk about mal being a tit, i got triple ninja-ed

Why thank you Mal :D

It would then fit into its roll as a science ship, and fit in with Boggz's observation of being a Destroyer(or was it a cruiser).

Special Abilities:

1. Defensive
2. Defensive
3. Offensive

Potential Attributes:

Off: 17
Def: 21
SV: 18

I'd imagine the ship has some supporters (I'm neutral with this Class), so at least 1 avatar should keep it. Assuming the Nova ends up replacing it, that is.

I like the idea of it being a hybrid with what I see as it's "Sister-ships" the Canaveral and the Intrepid. Weaker physically than an Intrepid but with more interesting abilities. Stronger than a Canaveral but with less specialized abilities.

Those values might need less system but do put it right between a Monsoon and an Intrepid for Risner. I like it. Screw Mayson. He can go play in the sandbox by himself. ^-^

I'm sure the Devs have an idea of how they are going to implement it, but it would likely be very useful to have suggestions pertaining to possibly special weapon abilities. I think those are some of the hardest things to dream up and implement effectively
