I think all the trekkies here have seen the Voyager episode "Living Witness".

Voyager was depicted as being a ship filled with warmongering federation killers, androids and borg.

Although the vessel was a fantasy, the model which i've found at War Ship Intrepid, Bridge Commander Downloads, Bridge Commander Federation can possibly be used for a Federation avatar.

What do you folks think as this model as a new federation battleship/battlecruiser

Well, you can outbuild this vessel BUT it wont be able to stand against other battleships. It only got a limited amount of shield-strength so it would'nt balance out with the offensive values of this ship. And that is a little bit against the federation-philosophy.

i dont think this ship fits into the game. it is much to strong ( triple-armored hull + shields) and then 25 phasers, maybe. BUT 30 torp tubes??? it would mop the floor with most ships. this ship is a product of a farytale...
like Sheva said not very fed-like

The weapons should obviously be adjusted to fit a vessel the size of an Intrepid, but with the steady rumors of a "Section 31" avatar an upgraded Intrepid could be nice addition.

Since Section 31 is a covert organization, the addition of Sovereigns and/or Galaxy battleships would draw unwanted attention. An Intrepid with upgraded weapons would be a viable alternative.

*rolls eyes* another god ship request.

It wasn't a Federation ship. In fact, in the show it didn't exist at all, so what's the point?

Also, with regards to the Section 31 idea... S31 use stealth and subterfuge. They are an intelligence agency. They would NOT have warships like this.

Yeah, I'd be suprised if they even HAD access to entire warships to begin with. More like "activate an officer" or something...

In the DS-9 episode "paradise lost" it was suggested that the attempted coup was work from S31. If that is true than S31 has access to upgraded star ships (in that particular episode an Lakota-Excelsior)

The warship Voyager is more like a standard Terran Empire Intrepid. A what-if map unit?

actually i dont think a intrepid-class vessel could actually keep all those weapons powered up ... not to mention where someone should place 30 torpedo tubes on such a small vessel

Unless we're going to replicate all the known weapon systems on the Canon-non canon vessels the specifications mentioned in that episode of voyager should be taken at face value.

It's sufficient to say it would be more heavily armored/armed than the current Intrepid.

Depends on how powerful the Warp Core is and how many minor systems your willing to sacrifice. The Launchers is a good point though, you'd probably need to add more parts to the ship to get that bit working.

30 launchers is quite a lot.

The Enterprise-D carried twelve phaser arrays, three torpedo launchers, a supply of 250 photon torpedoes, and a high-capacity shield grid which could operate on multiple frequencies. When the ship was destroyed in 2371, the shield frequency was of 257.4. (TNG: "Conundrum", Star Trek Generations)

But since FO doesn't add all the weapons mentioned in databases such as memory alpha, the weapon systems for the "Warship Intrepid" can also be adjusted to fit in with the rest of the star ships.

plus a ship of that size wouldnt have enough torps storage to feed those 30 launchers.

"fire at will!" *pew pew pew* "captain were out of torpedoes!" "your kidding i thought we were supposed to have those nacelle mounted torpedo storages" "nope those get installed next tuesday"
