Is there a way to make a replace weapon that gives a ship back to neutral (so that it's map icon becomes grey)? The reason is I'd like to make it so a ship can be ordered to warp out of a sector and it might even be handy down the road in FO. If this is not currently possible, is there a chance that a warp out function might be implemented down the road?

Hmm well warpout is already featured when you try to warpin more ships that your cap allows. Im not sure about giving it back to neutral

That is correct, but it's automatic and not controllable  :sweatdrop:

It would be quite cool to be able to tell ships to warp-off the screen :D

EDIT: I meant cool for a modding tool, not FO gameplay  :sweatdrop:

That'd be a great feature for dirt-cheap mercs with some kind of morale system.  They start losing...and they just leave, no refunds.

Especially the Ferengi.

yes, basically the warp-out already exists. i'll think about how that could be integrated to use directly through odfs

Or dirt cheap mercs that if you don't warp them out soon enough get bored and start harassing your own units.

It wont help fo feds cos if u want a warpin gone to free slots u can just decom lol.

I ofc support the idea as a modding tool tho.

Well I think this idea would be brilliant if integrated with FED Warp-in capabilities. For example instead of being charged supply for losing a Warp-in. Just warp it out and get a new ship after the Warp-in cool down with no supply penalty.

idk about mercs its not FED style.

:innocent:

Neither is the defiant but sometimes you just do what you have too.

What's the point of the supply cost if the fed player can negate it?

This is awesome news to know that this will be put in eventually.
It also might be handy if a ship can warp in, stay around and take orders for awhile, and then automatically warp out. It probably could be done using replacementinstantplayer = 1, though the ship that replaces it would need a command line that forces it to warp out or something.

Yes, if you could set it by timer that'd be cool. Aka, after 15 seconds warp out. Default being always stay or something... I dunno :D

I don't remember exactly how, but I think i could get ships to warp out by putting them on a replace timer, and having the ship they replaced into be maxed on cap, so basically it would do the same as when you warp in ships to a full cap.

No, you don't. Just because the Federation built a true warship does not equate to the Federation becoming a faction that would hire mercinaries to do their dirty work.
