On topic: I definitely see how credits play into strategy. It helps even things out when you play the game.

Yep, the usual credit costs and the maximum credits got doubled (allows us to set more precice credit costs). But you can also chose to play with 30 credits (would be 15 in the old system).
For real tournaments i still recommend the default of 20 credits, cause the balancing system is made for the default settings. But of course you sometimes want to kick the AI or a poor friend with a bit.. let's say more
