Having weapons just for show is kinda lame IMO, it's like hey lets put roman candles on this ship cause they look cool.
A build-able variant Vorcha with pulse weapon configuration that could fit another role in the fleet would be the most satisfactory... to me anyway
but the vorcha is a beast already... I have no gripes with it.

Weapons for show are lame? i guess we should remove all weapon effects then since they are lame.

Congratulations, you understood nothing of my post...
I'll give you a minute to re-read....
In summary,
I did not say that weapon effects were lame, I said having weapons that are 'just for show' is lame.

Ah, my bad.
But yeah, while for show is bad, the Vor'cha needs a re-work.
As is, the beam disruptor fires from hardpoints other than the foward emmiter, which is silly as it's supposed to be a big FOWARD gun.
Lock the beam to foward only and only via the hardpoint for the foward emmiter, adjust it's strength as needed, and add pulse disruptors to the other hardpoints as needed, for non-foward fire and additonal foward fire.
Prehaps have weapon modes for it, using the pulse disruptors only makes it long ranged, not the most accurate but the rate of fire increase means more chances to land hits, beam only for short range, it's pretty accurate at those ranges and does heavy damage, and both at medium ranges for general dealing out firepower, but the pulses fire slower at those ranges due to the beam taking up power that otherwise allowed them to fire faster.

Hmmm?

But but but but ... but the Vorcha is so goooooood right now

The reason I suggested the pulses was because people wanted to see them on it, but I also had suggested Manual Targeting. Since MT was originally only on ships with pulse disruptors (the Vutpa and the B'rel), it just seemed to me that the Vorcha could have some weak pulses whose job it was to track cloaking ships

How about making pulses avatar specific? Martok Officer Vor'cha gets pulses, TaQ'roja stays with Torps(as she seems to be the Torp expert(B'rel, K'Vort, Sang, Chargh), I wonder why she got the KBQ beam and not the Torp drone
). Before people complain about pulses being not very useful when the Vor'cha is on the field: make them a bit stronger than the Torpedoes or give plenty of them to it. We saw Vor'chas firing pulses from the wings as well as from the main weapons section.
Btw the same could work for KTIngas. Instead of the 1damage torp give Martok 2 1damage disruptors :2guns:
