I suppose they didn't expect it to be penetrated.

Exactly. It's so obviously a purely offensive ship, relying on its supercloak to escape retributive fire from enemy squadrons. The only reason it wasn't decisively destroyed was because that starfleet squadron wasn't on station. Those extra 5 or 6 ships would have surely defeated the scimitar (yeah I kept calling it "scorpion" oops).

500 posts! I've been promoted to 5 little square blocks! Hooray!

Gratz coolhand.

now about the scimitar.
that would make sense, it's main defense is the Transcloak (that's what it was called right?), and i doubt that few ships are designed to be rammed, except maybe federation ships, after the dominion war anyway (remember the bug slamming into the Odyssey, and destroying it).

oh, joy 101 posts, three little square boxes. yea, me lol

"transcloak" i don't remember it being called anything but a thayloron(however you spell it) generated cloak.

@coolhandab, i think the newer designs would better be able to resist getting rammed, but the already existing designs haven't really been modified with anything other than a heavier weaponload/shields/ enhanced engines in mind. :)

I think no matter how much you fortify a ship, the damage from ramming is still quite serious.

On another note, the Simitar should of just used their fighters to pick the defenceless Enterprise apart.

if you notice when picard & data escaped the scimiitar the cloak went down on parts of the ship. deploying the fighters would probably have had the same effect, and when the Ent-E was still fresh it may have taken the scimitar apart.

The Simitar has enough power systems to stay cloaked and also fire her weapons at the same time, and has nothing to do with the theyleron generator. Just wanted to get that out of the way.

A Scimitar warbird would be a nice addition replacing the Tavara. Their both big winged ships, they both transport troops on things with the hope of capturing the ship, they both have cloaks, etc etc etc.

yeah, but the scimitar would be a god ship, the tavara isn't.
remember all those quantum torpedoes that landed hits on the scimitar (can't recall even 1 missing) and yet its shields were at 70% still. way too strong

Ummm, remember all those torpedos and disruptors that hit the Sovern and her shields didn't drop right away? It's called tweaking...make the Scimitar have the Tavaras stats.

make the Scimitar have the Tavaras stats.

Because it's canon and it was made by romulan parts.

hmm worded my last post wrong: should have been "then the point in having it in game as a Romulan ship"
but it wasn't even crewed by Romulans. Plus in the end it was even fighting them.
agree with SSA, a map unit. tops

I'll be happy as long as it isn't a merc ship.

another moronic statement, again i will say it, you (FO design team) have complete 100% control over how a ship in the game works. weapons/shields/hull/crew my god you can even control how fast it moves. why are you ALWAYS bringing up this crap about ships being to powerful.
