If they could do that, they probably would have. Starfleet never seemed inclined to take their military into the DMZ and the Cardassians chose to arm their civies and pretend it wasn't bothering them. Knowing where they are isn't important because they already know where their ex-colonies are, only off-world bases need to worry about that.
Nacelles aren't always needed for warp, it's something Starfleet-style warp uses; most aliens don't have them or only have them on some ships and they get tech from other races. Space and fuel isn't a big deal, stripping ships of things unneeded isn't a new concept and not much fuel is needed for a small and short-ranged hit-and-run mission considering how Runabouts go for fairly good distance, dispite their shuttle-like size.
Whether you buy it or not doesn't count against it.

they could, but it wouldn't have helped them a bit seeing as the maquis were mobile. they didn't use ships that tied them down to small areas. they hopped from place to place. the only way they could be stopped would be to use a huge force and war time tactics, which is what the jemhadar did because starfleet weren't gonna stop them.
if the maquis surrendered their mobility, then you could have 1 cardassian ship and 1 starfleet ship (picard/evek maybe) go in to that system and deal with the problem, a sublight maquis ship wouldn't stand a chance in combat with any number of starships.

did you read this?

'functions like nacelles' != nacelles. klink bops don't have nacelles but they definitely have something that does the same job. creating a warp field. possibly with warp coils.
bajoran interceptors are already tiny, they were the failures that chased kira's sub impulse fighter in ds9. and runabouts are much bigger than shuttles, they are comparable to the peregrine fighters, which still need a carrier. the first runabout we saw appeared to be attached to the ent D.
a ship designed solely for impulse combat isn't gonna have any space inside remaining for upgrades using technology the bajorans didn't even have yet. it was already a combat ship, you couldn't strip it down much more, as they wouldn't have included frivolous stuff to begin with.
i wouldn't buy this even if i got one free. it's ridiculous on the face of it.
that interceptor doesn't belong as a ship, it could only be half argued it would belong as a fighter/shuttle traffic thing.

lol

clearly you havnt seen the tv show "space 1999"
(tho technically that was a moon but that spoils my fun)
also about the upgrade to warp. some designs in startrek have been messed up in canon. (take the defiant for example with how they walk into it through the deflector dish.)
second.. er.. they could find the extra space in there.. by.. a.. meh a space wizard did it
and now the most convincing argument why it doesnt matter..

this, is chewbacca....

yeah that yeager always seemed to me like a bird of pray with an intrepid dish on it, but i do remember it seeing in 1 of the series at 1 time

Just the 1 time? Not at all; the Yeager was a regular visitor to DS9 in the later series'.

lol the yeager was put in some establishing shots of ds9 in the war. the shots weren't very important and were probably made without the input of the writers/story people. then it got reused like most establishing shots. and hence the yeager class is around quite often. presumably it was a rare ship (maybe even just the one repeatedly), cobbled together in war times, and was put on defensive duty due to lower performance. maybe it was on transport duty also. we didn't see any in the big showpiece battles.
it was part voyager, part maquis raider. fully cheap.

Doug Drexler has some good pictures of the Yeager studio model at https://drexfiles.wordpress.com/2009/03 ... ss-yeager/
And yeah, I know, I keep posting links from his blog, but he really does have some high-quality starship porn there.

i supose it could go under a mix tech ship fairly well. but it really doesnt do well in the fact it doesnt match from the back to the front.

thanks for posting that. my favourite quote from boris in the comments:
I say “Caretaker” should’ve ended like this: Voyager saucer-separates, the secondary hull rams the array because there are no more torpedoes left, and then Voyager’s saucer has to merge with the Maquis raider into this design for the next seven years.

An entire series with the Yeager Class as a main ship... couldn't have been worse than a retarded crew, villain captain and Neelix.
