It was a shock when mac over took Microsoft as the dominate computer company recently.

Looking at the 2 companies Microsoft just dose not have any thing out to shift the planing field back in there favor.

Whats looks to be the future for fo is users drop off because the game dose not play on mac.

What I recommend is for there to be emulators and directions on how to get the game to work on a PC to slow what could be a dropping of users.

---

ultimately the best corse of actions would be to find a way to get fo to work on a mac as easily as posable.

If there was way to tern this in to a I pad game you could make a killing.

You are talking about net worth and stocks - which has nothing to do with being the computers :)

i wouldnt make it a priority, usage share of operating systems currently puts windows (xp, vista, 7) at around 85% - 90% mac osx only gets around 5% - 7%

i'd rather the devs worked on making the game better. of course mac compatibility wouldn't hurt the game, i just wouldnt want pursuit of it to cloud making the game better.

EDIT: @ your edit: fleet ops on ipad is just weird lol. touch screen interface might work, but i doubt the ipad has enough power to run a serious game like this. plus all apps have to be approved by the evil overlords at apple. they get to decide what can and cannot be released, its disgusting. but im pretty sure that the armada 2 engine would never run in apples ipad os.

It will if this keeps happening.

hm, apple and microsoft have a lot of interessting past associated with them, which, at least in my opinion, makes it highly unlikely for apple to start dominating the world in the desktop-pc sector. Especially gaming. One should be more concerned about the tendency to shift game development to consoles, but strategy games are a typical desktop-pc genre..

The famous recent headlines about Apple dominating the 1000€+ "electronics" sector is highly controversial in my opinion.

at the end of the day, Fleet Operations will stay on windows ^-^

a lot of apples growth has been fueled by devices not capable of playing hardcore games, like ipods and iphones.

@ Ewm: didn't happen with Dell, and yet when Mac became larger in marker share then Dell, the same splash occurred :) .

Ipad a different story I think that the FO game would reach just leave of its ability.

I have seen some pretty complicated games on Ipod and Iphone such as detailed 1st person shooter I think it could take it.

Its all a mute pont now
at the end of the day, Fleet Operations will stay on windows
.

I would by a Ipad just for that. and I am a cheep bastard, Me being willing to spend money for some thing like that is a a event that could stop the planets in there tracts in shock.

Its more then the stock its the seeming inability for the company to put out any thing that not only matches the needs of the consumer but surpasses them. Apple on the outer hand has had a trend of booming growth that has not capped of. Microsoft could come out with some thing tomorrow that could be a game changer I am not holding my berth.

From what I've heard, Ipads will not last.  they just arn't worth their price, or service.  just big ipod touches, that don't have the same capability as a computer.

IMO, it wouldn't be worth the Devs time to try any kind of convert.

The macbook-air though :whistling:. That impresses me. :woot:

The cost vs. what you get impresses me.

I think I'll stick with my good 'ol pc, thanks. ^-^

I've found that most 'nerds' (and I am one  :D ) use PC's almost exclusively  B)

no offence intended

but I've found it's rare to find mac users with an I.Q. above 115  :whistling: (Please note that 100 is average, with 10 being the standard deviation)

Though I agree with your first statement, I have met alot ot smart people who use macs.  they usually go for them because of their stability and higher graphics, but not for gaming.

Stability, sure, but I think at this point with the advances in video cards graphics are really OS-neutral now.  As for gaming, Macs haven't even started to break down the PC's dominance over Macs in that.

PCs are infinity more flexible than macs are so i hope that the devs continue to focus their attention on the PC
