TaQ'roja mining station cost reduction

What do you guys think about connecting the reduced costs for TaQ'roja miners also to the mining station? Right now the station costs 375dil/222tri - most expensive mining station. I suggest to apply taqs miner costs to the station as well, meaning costs of about 340dil. I don't suggest the whole mining station to be cheaper at 20%, but taking away the 20% of her miners' costs.
Results: Taq would become a little more interesting for players. Right now, many people choose Martok because of his cheap yards, with cheaper mining stations taq would have sth. to compete.
Backgroundwise it also fits her, since cheaper mining stations allow for more sneaky sneaky expansions ;).
In fact implementing it that way would finally reduce the costs of all of her miners, not only the ones' built in the starbase ;).

As a fed player I'm all for that reduction as well. It makes logical sense. I doubt 35 dil is really going to cause anyone to build a new strategy around that fact.

If the miners are 20% deduction from Martok, then make the mining station 20% cheaper so 300ish dil/180ish tri. As it is, Taqs ship yards are very expensive!

i like the idea of the reduction it fits well, but i think it should come with a similar nerf to something else. as this would be a very useful improvement to her game, it needs a little something negative in return. taqroja can already raid enemy mining very well, especially since her brel is better for getting her supply.

maybe her mining station could have less hull strength to compensate.

Beside from the lame Vorchas strats or Sang spam Taqroja is the better avatar. Especially with the awesome Charg and its tractor of death. Requires some skill though and thats why ppl prefer the easy style Martok.

You don't think it is the better or you are better with TaQ, just TaQ is better than Martok? And you haven't really commented on the topic of the OP either.

Personally I think Martok is a little too strong, but TaQ is in line with the other races except Feds, who IMO are on about the same level as Martok, if not slightly hugher. Howver that is NOT the topic.

I love the idea. Remember building the mining station also means you don't pay supply for the miner, not that it makes much difference, especially for TaQ

I am really disappointed...when people claim that Fed is still rocking hell (which they obviously do) we don't get answers like this...
And if we get changes one day about this serious issue its somthing like "Monsoon build cost was reduced by 37 Dil and 15,5 Tri" or "Reduced the appearence of [Warpin ship] by 2,573%". Which is decided after ages of game sessions between ??? (guess Optec, Doca, Dom, Detektor). I mean here its not worth to make endless tests and there it is?

Responding in the forums does not necessarily guarantee an outcome for the next patch :). We will test all such changes, especially early game changes such as this one :thumbsup:. I have been keeping in the backside for this one because I have been trying to come up with some appropriate measures for testing the effect, as well as compiling a list of possible issues that might be more difficult to test :). If you have thoughts on the matter, feel free to post them or PM/IM them - I and other are more than willing to listen and test them  :thumbsup:

I would prefer if one of the available solutions ist just tested by the community. Then we can decide if it works or not. And best is, we don't need your free time to test things for us in an "artificial lab" environment.
*Which is still not meant offensive, but I don't see your method of testing being more vailid*

You are always welcome to test stuff the way you see fit and coming to your own opinions (or fulfilling your own expectations in this case) - nothing has been stopping you since you joined the Fleet Ops community.  :thumbsup:

Nice to see that many positive answers.
@Drrrr: this is not a huge change to gameplay I suggest here. It is rather a very small tweaking. One could even say it's just applying the avatar bonus of Taq'roja in a more consequent way. Seriously - 40dil don't change the world.
I thought about mkmans idea as well(reducing the whole mining station costs about 20%), but I think this would be a much more dramatic change which would need a lot of testing of course. TaQ'roja is a bit forced to use her smaller vessels(compared to Martok). Due to that she also uses faster vessels and can defend a bit more easily against raiding. Much cheaper mining stations would give her also a strong tool against Borg who like to assimilate stations every now and then.
