er.. i suppose thats true... in a way. it is the rommie equivilent, but yeah area damage IS splash damage i.e. anyone in the area of affect gets dealt damage ^_^ .

i like the ideas, the grav generator does sound Homeworld lol always hated them...my poor fighters...when I was the Kushan vs. the Taiidani.

Does the explosion from a ship's destruction do any damage? that would be something to consider, since a warp core breech causes massive area effect damage on the startrek shows.

that is true, but a ship can be destroyed without going "nova" every time.

yeah but only when they seem to be alone, if you watch the fleet battles from DS9, you'll notice that there are very few ships that caused damage to nearby ships when they were destroyed, so i say only damage should be dealt by the very largest of ships, i.e. cube's, dominion dreadnaughts.

i think it's the safety core ejection thingy, when the ships going to blow, the core is locked, purged, and the anti-matter storage containers are dumped as well.

well whatever it was, they didn't damage the ships around them, (unless they collided) so there :P .

if your talking about the episode i have in mind, didn't the excelsior run out of control and collide with the that ship? i have ammnesia, so bare with me.

didn't i propose something like this when i first started posting here?

it was something like if you engines are hit with torpedoes there is a very slight chance to have a warp core breach? or something like that?

probably, that would be whats called a critical hit, & now you have just brought that to my attention, i think that bit should be left out :unsure: .

If the ships are going to go nova, anti-matter dumping or not, they shouldstill damage the surrounding ships, not heavily, but mabey like the self destruct (i hate that that's gone now, whenever my ships were about to be taken over I always self destructed...Oh well...if engineering is hit by a torpedo the core goes nuclear no matter what they do, so let's use that as the excuse for all the ships "going nova" :lol: point is the radius should do some slight damage.

well i hate that idea becuse for instance you have a sovereign and and the rest scouts as your fleet. Imagine your sovereign is destroyed, that destruction should also be able to take out all those scouts aswell like a chain reaction because they already so weak and teh sovereign is the most powerfull ship
