Ok, everyone knows that there are frequent Galaxy X threads.
And Everyone no doubt knows that the current model for the Phalanx ALMOST looks like something from STO (execpt its still too good looking to be from STO, it's not QUITE that bad :p )
So our solution ?
Make the Phalanx into the Galaxy class Phalanx refit.
The magan phaser is the big gun on the Gal-X
The pulse phasers on the phalanx are from those weird attena on the bridge of the gal-x
This removes the need to re-do the phalanx model
This removes the continual galaxy x request threads.
And since the Phalanx is allready capped, it removes the whole 'building a out of production ship' issue.
Past that, have it have the same tech requirements as the current phalanx, but prehaps if possible move it to SFC, and be 'built' there, once the ship finishes 'building' it warps in beside the SFC.

While the Galaxy-X has plenty of people that love the design, it also has just as many who hate it so I don't think that this is a good idea. Besides, there are already a lot of people that complain about the Defiant class not having a cloak even though only one or two ships of that class ever had one. I predict that a Galaxy-X would have similar complaints. In the end, if the ship is included, the devs would probably piss off at least 50% of the people that play FO no matter how powerful or well balanced the ship is or what features it has; every time they buff or nerf it half the players will cheer and half the players will complain.

Nice try. Not "our" decision I'm afraid.

Well teh current phalanx model is fugly, so this is an easy repalcement for it.
Plus it'd also get rid of the endless gal-x threads in the wrong place that dom ahs to move, too.

i like the phalanx model as it is better than the agt gal x.
if it was adjusted to be a venture type gal with the addition of only the giant cannon, then i'd be indifferent. just dont tack on nacelles and wing thingies.
only 1 defiant class ship had a cloak, the defiant, they didnt install a cloak on the renamed sao paulo defiant, because the immediate need was to fight dominion fleets.
the only other fed ships to have cloaks were the holoship(s), the pegasus and later the ent d after finding the pegasus. i guess you could also count the bop kirk stole and named bounty, as a fed officer (albeit one wanted for criminal charges) was in command.

Can't we just erase the Galaxy-X from history and be done with it?

I dont think we will ever include a buildable Galaxy-X. None in de dev team likes it much

That I could live with (just). The nacelle phasers would need to be changed first, since they don't match the Venture-types from canon (facing the wrong way).

Yeah I agree, the wing thingies were fugly.

Phalanxes are one of my favorite ships...
The Galaxy X in game would be kind of weird.

But the Gal-X ingame WOULD end all of the Gal-X threads :p

I hate the Phalanx with a vengeance and although i'm not fond of the Galaxy-X super ship either it'd be an improvement over that magnan monstrosity.
I still would prefer to see the Achilles class in a toned down version.

No, it wouldn't. Because we'd have more threads saying "Can we get rid of the Gal-X and replace it with something good?"
(PS: As a Gal-X fan I wouldn't be doing that, of course, but the Gal-X does seem to be the Marmite of Star Trek, so best to leave it out.)

How can you hate the Phalanx with a vengeance? It's got an awesome Greek name, has an epic unit speech, is original to FO, and has a very cool weapon (The Magnon Phaser). Well, regardless, I am sure you will love it in my next FO Animaton xD.
You should get yourself elected to congress. Let's solve a problem by creating another problem. Replacing the Phalanx with the Galaxy X might stop the Galaxy X request threads, but then I (and others) would create a lot of Phalanx Request threads. Also, putting the Galaxy X in the game would encourage even more Galaxy X threads. I.e. "Galaxy X is OP!" "Galaxy X is UP!" "Galaxy X is too high on the tech tree!"
If the Galaxy X is for some reason needed in the game, I think that it would fit best in the Experimental warpin category for 3 reasons. At this point of time in the Star Trek Universe, a lot of the technology we saw in All Good Things has not been invented or perfected yet. Most of it would be in the "Expiremental stage". Secondly, the original Galaxy is a warpin, and it wouldn't feel quite right for the Gal X to be buildable. Finally, the amount of ship varients in the Expirmental Category could use some variety. But please, don't get rid of my precious Phalanx.
