If Hyperon is a misspelling of Hyperion, then it is from stock. Hyperion was one of the generic Sovereign Class.

What about a commemorative ship name?

USS Roddenberry NCC-1921  :sweatdrop:

I'd say that would do nicely..

"Hyperion" is also the name of the flagship of Admiral Yang Wen-li in "Legend of Galactic Heroes", excellent space opera anime, with a complex plot.

It's like "Monitor", a common name for a ship, be it a sea ship or a star ship. Which prompts me to wonder once more why the "Merrimac" is not as common as the "Monitor". May be because "Monitor" defeated "Merrimac"? :)

You yankee types should know. One is a Northern ship and the other a confederated one. :)

By the way, "Monitor" IS in A2. I've seen the ship name more than once.
