Ship Names

Hey guys,

Basically just put a few names down of what you think a few ships should be called. Just to add a bit more of variation to the game possibly?

Select any race except Borg (unless you find numbers exhilarating...).

Ok well here are a few of mine:

Federation:

USS Alpha (After the quadrant)
USS Praxis (Klingon Moon)
USS Cerberus (Federation colony planet)

Hmm, I seem to recall that a few threads about this were posted a year or so ago--we got up to several hundred names I believe . Perhaps adding your names to that thread would be a good idea? ...I'm looking for it right now, but I don't know why I can't find it when I saw it just a few days ago

I'm sorry about shooting down some of your proposals:

-Alpha is too generic to be used as a name for a ship.
-The Klingon would have a fit if the Feds had a ship that reminded them of the event that almost destroyed the Empire. And I doubt that the "politically correct" UFP would allow a diplomatic boo-boo of that magnitude.
-Cerberus is acceptable. It's even possible it is already in the list, but the list is actually somewhat short or I have bad luck with the names. I noticed once that I had three ships with the same name: the "Jose", the "Jose-A" and the "Jose-B".

How about a petition to have some ship names removed... I have gotten the U.S.S. Rainbow on more than one occasion.... U.S.S. Rainbow... really? why not add the U.S.S. Fairy Dust and the U.S.S. Unicorn...

So, yes, USS Lollipop was used in canon. In some way.

Why remove any of them? Fairy Dust and Unicorn would fit well on a Sovereign, Descent or Negh'Var Class...
