If you guys want latinum in your games, you can make your own mod. Call it Star Trek Armada 2: Ferengi Operations!
It's an economy based game where you buy and sell ships using latinum, instead of having to attack your opponent. Whoever comes up with the best trade agreement with the various factions on the map wins!

If it isn't too much trouble, maybe you can release something by April 1st?

ok well i guess im over-ruled here, lol. the mighty optec has spoken. lol (i still want latinum tho
closest to a universal currency there is)
jus on the idea of trading. i was thinking that perhaps their could be a ship that one could use to hijack a cargo ships supplies. eg: if my opponent had a nice long trade route running between two trade stations, i could go cloak this ship and position it along the trade route where i know a cargo ship will pass, and when a cargo ship passes by the hijack ship will automatically transport all the goods that cargo ship was carrying and give it to me but let the cargo ship continue afterwards empty. That way there can be a way of sabotaging ur enemies trade routes but still benefit urself in the process. perhaps this hijack ship could also be the ship used for salvaging destoyed ships?

That's the best part about Ferengi Operations!
Your Ferengi Marauder can set up deadly traps on unsuspecting cargo ships for fun and profit!
In Ferengi Operations (I would call it FO, but some jerks already took that abbreviation....
), you do all these cargo heists to come home with phat wads of cash and latinum. Then you can pimp out your starbase and add appropriate "bling" to your fleets of starships, like having chrome warp nacelles. You can even make latinum plated turrets! :kid:
See, in my mod, it's not enough that you defend yourself. You have to be able to defend yourself with style.

yup supply makes more sence to me aswell since exchanging goods in trade has been done since trade was invented. money was only introduced as a token to make universal prices. in every day life you will always see goods being exchanged for other goods or services so why not trade with supplies. plus federation crew do not get paid according to picard in first contact
