i don't think that would be much realistic. we play in a post-dominion war era so why should be research 200 year old photon torpedos?

well if thats ur opinion, then u could let it free-tech as standard, cause the most special weapons are researched in the tng era, like these anti torp shots of the feds, assimilator- n holding beams... and all that stuff...
