there is the balancing issue, if you give that to 1 race you gotta give something on par with that to another race etc, etc...
eventually your gonna give something to someone that is either to powerful, or makes what you gave someone else look like crap.

hehe...indeed! But right THIS is the issue good games seperate from bad games. It's very difficult to manage this.
Balancing is always remodeling equations. As more variables have to be noted the more difficult it is but the better for gameplay.
Example:

10 = 10;

2x = 10

5x = 3y + 2z

6x = 4y + 4z + 2u

etc...

the Fleet Operations V3 balancing table with all its forumlas is up to reach one mb :) (which is quite much for simple table and formula scripting) so yep.. the more variables you have the more complex all the stuff will get. the V3 file structure for example got that large that i had to write an extra tool just to create some files which have to be updated with every balancing change. besides texturing balancing is the most time intensive job during game development (besides cut-scenes i propose.. oh well and bug fixing :blush: )

oh well okay back to topic:
its not planed to include that type of economic research.. yet :cloak:
