Re introducing Warp

(more ideas for restrictions for warp)

Make warp a researchable ability.
-- The 'lore' behind this would be something like having a researchable ability called "Short distance warp navigation". Since the maps are basically systems, the distance between them is relatively small (when compared to the distances warp is normally used for: Warp Speed Calculator). Therefore it would need 'special' compensation (research) to deal with the short distance.

Make warp require that you have viewed the area before.



If they run into anything, then they drop out of warp (an alternate to the 'takes damage when running into something').

Have the alert status affect warp speed (red alert = fastest, green alert = slower warp)

This could quite possibly be the most effective implementation idea for warp yet... Just make sure to add in a recharge time of some sort.

agreed.

If this is implimented it could drasticaly change game tactics.

For better or worse i cannot say.
