Then we could also introduce this:

Uronium, famous fonder of an Urologist movement, super heroe who invented the wee-wee gun, can pee a ship off the map every 5mins. Costs: A sixpach of supplies.

Sorry, I'm no friend of phantastic stuff in sci-fi.
Sorry, I'm not  fond of any non-canon phantastic stuff in StarTrek related material.
Sorry, I'm critical about any non-canon phantastic not-by-the devs-created stuff in StarTrek-Mods.
Sorry, I'm opposed to any non-canon phantastic not-by-the devs-created  unbalanced stuff in FO.

I'd recommend rare resources to available to all fractions in principle and to power up shipy whatever (shields, specials) by at max 50%

we dont want to introduce new resources. those rare stuff can be seen as part of the supply resource :)

We have some ideas in stuff that can be found on maps. perhaps a very pure dilithium crystal or similar stuff, as we want to introduce some exploration and science related features in future patches. But we don't have to make up much on that end, Star Trek is already full "mini technologies" for that purpose

Those are mere plans and are not supposed to be thought through before 4.0 :)

But it would be so cool to have rare resources.  We could call it unobtainium, and we have to fight these blue aliens with our huge humanoid mechs with huge machine guns and combat knives! :woot:  And then once we have it, we can call it obtainium, because you know, we have it.... :ermm:  Any resources requiring big humanoid mechs with large guns and mech-sized combat knives is something I would vote for.

thank you Optech most of the other posters were blowing my idea out of proportion, anyway i like the way you guys are thinking of implementing it.

Sorry about that, Dircome.  The idea from your original post is good.  It reminds me of the crates thread a while back.  Maybe one of the map objects (crates) that are created can be used to level up an already existing ship, or make it a vet.  What kind of special ship were you thinking of?  Like a mixed tech ship?  Or a ship similar to the Tavara for other factions?

well i wasnt talking about you so sorry, anyway my idea was a ship that would be on par with mixed tech.

I think if nothing else, this would be quite a nice idea for a specific "map style". Similar to king of the hill, and other such things. Definitely is an interesting concept, though I'm not sure exactly how it can be implemented  :sweatdrop: . Probably have to introduce the special "scientific/exploration events" that Optec mentioned earlier :) .

hm, it actually looks quite different, cardassian space and breen space are far smaller. and there are no planets besides Breen given for the Breen space

some of the stuff on gamers map looks new like weytanh and babel, from later series of enterprise, after the star charts book was made.
