Surprisingly I didn't find something about that via search.
I think one should be able to queue up researches just like ships, with a halt button and so on. I don't know why it is not implemented yet, since it's quite self explanatory. Pick the special weapon - build it when there is enough tri.
It is not a big problem right now, but it would simplify macromanagment a little bit. Perhaps it shouldn't be able for the transmission matrix, since the Borg player could easily queue up everything he wants and wouldn't have to care about it any longer.

i dont mind this. personally i wouldnt use it much because you shouldnt be going on a spending spree gettings loads and loads of specials.
even for transmission matrix, the borg shouldnt have a set list they always go through. what comes first depends greatly on the situation.
if u have a diamond up nanites is a good idea, while if u are still on spheres partial adaption would be better. if the enemy is raiding your main base hard or you expect them to try for your conduction soon, you could try station holding beam to steal a ship and generally annoy them
while if you are reaching a point in the game where you need more resources but dont have anywhere to expand to, perfect logistics would help.

For me the important part of it is not queuing up several researches(since one rarely has enough tri to do that, especially as Klingon player). I think one should be able to pick a research and put it in a queue and once you got the ressources it automatically starts to research, so you don't have to wait until you have the ressources and then manually start researching.

cant argue with that. that would be useful.

The Federation lost the ability to do this, which might mean it's not something they intend to add.

That would be a shame, i'd love to queue research.

Agreed.
@Tyler, I think Feds losing that ability was more because they wanted Starfleet Science to be more important in a non warpin build, rather than an actual problem with queuing up research.

Indeed, the old research for Feds was on the Shipyard. It looks to me like non-queueing was just a side-effect of moving it off of the yard.

Queueing stations would be very nice (both the cons ship waiting until available res to build, and being able to have the ship move on to the next building in a queue, tho I suspect ther's a way to do the second one that I just don't know about.)

What I would really love is a pause button for build and research queues, something that shows up next to the build/research button that actually stops the build/research mid-build. That way you can resume when you get the resources up.
Failing that, some concept, but pauses the build/research after the current unit is completed. Kind of like what the halt does, but you don't have to re-organise the build-list. Then with one click you can resume without interruption
I think this would greatly benefit in MP games were you're running out of resources and when lag makes it a pain to do build-list shuffles.

Pausing mid-build would probably make more sense if the game had a 'resources-pr-second' build style.

pausing during construction would not be a benefit, as you already payed for it. Bug you can already halt the construction queue in Fleet Operations. The item currently under construction will continue to be buiult, but it will be halted right after until you remove the "halt" icon from the queue

Is it possible to give research stations a queue, Optec?

yea it is
but we do not intend to do so at the moment. research should be a situativ and tactical decission, nothing to queue
