personally, i think my system already has the frame in which ti implement it, its all therem all it is now is some copy and paste, some new models, some other stuff, and thats it, i think that a big change like that needs to be brought in, instead of the little changes that are taking place right now

yea, there are some good ideas in it. it's not sure yet if we leave colonisation out entirely or not, anyway...

well while colonization isnt needed for people, it has the same function as a starship, when all of the feds on the pleanet are dead, and theres 2 tavaras and 10 warbirds waiting out side the planet, then the planet goes with the roms, (they of course have to colonize it), then the roms build up the defenses, with the orbiting minutare station/turret/shipyard/sensor/ miner/ awsome idea!

i think the first planet discussions were going on since the first weeks of v1.0's release.
anyway, i played a bit on reintegrating the armada 1 style 'colonisation' in terms of building a station on top of a planet just to see if it works and it does so far. now it's open what kind of bonuses a planet could give.
still, don't expect any of that in fleet operations soon...

I'd love to see a 'build the starbase in orbit of the planet and it's weapons become more powerful'. Making it so that getting your hands on a planet and fortifying it is a turtler tactic, and perhaps let a controlled planet give you a slow rate of supplies incoming, making them major prizes to the Klingons, Feds, and Roms.

i am not talking about the armada 2 colonisation (which i just don't like) but the approach of armada 1 to get a bonus if you build a station near ("on top") a planet (in armada 1 you got a blue build frame with a globe). in armada 1 you only got a crew bonus if you build a starbase (outpost) near a planet, it now would be possibie to have other stations get different bonuses or to allow some stations only be buildable near a planet.

Planets is where a new structure "outpost" would come in handy. If this were built near a planet it would harvest dilithium, or supply or tritanium from the planet. the resource would vary from planet to planet and there could be a maximum of 3 outposts per planet.
the outpost would look like a typical outpost (such as space lab regular 1 for feds, klings would have theirs, borg well use ur imagination etc), and also have certain defensive and offensive capabilities.
also, it would be nice to see a couple of additional researches or special bonuses associated with controlling a specific planet which would be unlocked at the outpost construct. 1 bonus per construct, and amax of 3 different per planet for the max 3 outposts per planet.
