Well, do I understand that right? You have a trading station and some smugglers go on it and you get dil/tri/supplies from them. In exchange, you give them something like "Tribbles".

Hum, what when you fight alone against 4 other races? And what about the borg? All the "tiny text messages" could be replaced with "Trade Goods" am I right? And your station will generate a specific amout of trade goods, and those goods will be used for transforming them into one of your main ressources.

I highly recommend that this process must be a very automatic way because you dont want to control your freighters for some bucks when you have a full fledged offensive operation at hand you have to control also.

Build this station assign freighters to it and maybe enhance this station with upgrades. Thats all you should have do to for keeping it running.

But I think on later game elements like planets and real moons and suns. Maybe we can combine trade-stations with colonies or something like that. Like a starbase would get a moral bonus by playing it near a planet.

Unfair as it may sound...

No trading for the Borg. They either ignore the goods, or assimilate them. No exchange is possible.

Also, if you are alone, the Ferengi can still appear and trade with whoever has trading stations, like in stock A2. If you don't disable the "Non player races" option, of course.

They were never able to trade anyway...

I was addressing this. I know the borg never traded, neither in FO nor in stock A2.

There was a way to start the trading as Borg.  It was USELESS, but it could be started.

Assimilate freighters.  Assimilate a trading post.  Assimilate another trading post.  Set the trade route.  Get absolutely nothing for your trouble except a laugh at Borg pretending to trade with themselves.

Though I really wouldn't mind the resource conversion capability back for the Borg.  Turn one resource into another...not that efficient, but sometimes, efficiency fails to matter anymore, and you must adapt.

Well, you can always select Optimize Avatar, overproduce supplies and convert them to whatever resource you need.

And in roughly an hour, you'll have enough to build a single Adaptor, I believe.

The conversion rate of the Recycling Node is extremely slow.

If I remember correctly, Borg's matter conversion efficiency is a 10:9.6 ratio. Not that bad of effeciency. Though I would imagine VAGR from The Motion Picture could teach the Borg how to get a 1:3 conversion ratio on anything from matter to energy (300% effeciency or higher was probably needed for that whole big thing to work).

I wouldn't mind living a few thousand years learning what VAGR learned. :whistling:

I like it a Cargo ship attack ability aginst any attacking race. I present to you The TRIBBLE BOMB where as the  Klingons try to board your ship. You transport the entire load of  Ravenious Tribbles  that were in stasis on their ship. Doing so would cause  them  extreame  damage as the tribbles did their thing.. Eat and breed Repeatedly,  wich would alow you to escape. :D
