The Olympic Class from the TNG Finale would be a great addition to the game in my view. As in the show, it would be a support ship with little weaponry. I would see it as having the following specifications and based, in part, off of the new Olympic Class design from Star Trek Online seen below:
OLYMPIC CLASS
High-Tech Support Vessel

[b]VESSEL STATISTICS
Offensive Value: 15 (+6 with MK I Upgrade)
Defensive Value: 35
System Value: 30
Crew: 550
BUILD COSTS
Dilithium Cost: 930
Tritanium Cost: 350
Supply Cost: 20
CLASS DESCRIPTION
The Olympic Class was originally designed solely as a Medical Transport, but was since refitted and redesigned for use during the Dominion War. The new Olympic Class features tritanium/duramite composite hull-armor and increased fire-power. Although a commander would be foolish to use the vessel as a combat ship, the Olympic Class can hold it's ground in a defensive posture. It is armed with several light pulse phasers for defense.
It's special ability will recrew damaged ships and reduce casualties during battles when involved in fleet actions. It's upgrades increase firepower and improve combat effectiveness.
SPECIAL ABILITY
Available Upon Construction: "Frontier Medicine" -- As primarily a hospital ship, while in a fleet, the casualties from combat vessels are transported on-board, treated for their injuries, and sent back to their respective ships. In effect, The Olympic Class Support Vessel will decrease crew combat casualties.
UPGRADES
With MK I Upgrade: "Weapon Augmentation" -- When upgraded, this improvement will increase the offensive capabilities of the Olympic Class by adding a Mark XI Phaser array and forward firing photon torpedo launcher (+6 Offensive).
With MK II Upgrade: "Emergency Reinforcements" -- When upgraded, the Olympic Class can use this ability to re-crew vessels and acts as a frontier crew support vessel by transporting replacement personnel from adjacent sectors via long-range crew transports which will warp-in, augment the crews on targeted vessels and then leave the area. This is especially useful when facing an opposing force preventing your fleet from returning to a shipyard to repair/recrew.
With MK III Upgrade: "Trans-Spectral False Target Generator" -- When upgraded, the Olympic Class can use this ability to create holographic replicas of nearby targeted vessels which act as smoke-screen and allow other ships to retreat, create the appearance of a larger fleet, or distract enemies. The ships would not deal any damage, but would simulate taking damage. They would be controlled independently by the Olympic Class automation systems and would continue projection until special energy ran out.

Usually supports have 3 weapons. Here is a possible 3rd weapon.
Trans-spectral F.T.G (False Target Generator):
This creates several copies of the Olympic Class vessel (Which are really fakes), all the copies will then be attacking enemy vessels and taking in damage (the copies weapons will not deal any damage, however, their shields and whatnot will take in damage like real versions). These ships are merely meant as a distraction. All the copies lasting for about 8 seconds, gives enough time for either the real one to retreat, or to grab a kill or two thereby ranking up.
The copies are AI controlled, meaning that the player cannot control them. However, when an enemy selects them, they have the same appearance on the GUI (same stats, weapons, and what not). Now of course, this is a lot like the Holo-Emmiter. But it does not turn enemy ships into holographic copies. But this would act like a replace weapon, generating several copies and the best part about it is that, in the end when their life span is over, they explode with large rumbling explosions.

I think the Olympic should replace the Newton as a repair ship, the reason being that the Newton is so damn tiny and I think that the systems necessary to make a repair beam would take up a lot more space than the Newton has. This would also make the repair ship a support vessel that can do a little more than just repair. The second support ability could be the upgrades the Newton currently has.
I also don't think it should have Ablative Armor, as that's meant for warships like the Defiant (and a rather expensive tech that will add to the ship's cost and construction time, as well as slowing hull repair rate.) Mark VI phasers as an upgrade? I think the Mayson phaser platform has Mark XV, keep in mind that Fleet Ops is set in the 2390s. Mark XII was the newest as of 2370s, so most likely a Mark XIV would be the upgrade (with Mark X or XI without upgrade.)
I really like the idea, but the Olympic seems kind of old to be in Fleet Ops, Memory Beta says they entered service in 2361. That's Warp-in old. So if it does come into the game, it will probably either be a refit (unlikely I think) or a Warp-in.

i also agree that olympic should replace the newton... cuz even if you think about it the specials you have created for the ship is only good for dominion spamming s-2's with their crew killing special...
every other race retreats to repair shields and cuz they repair shields they also get full crew at shipyard... ^^;

I don't think that's a good idea to replace it. They should both be in, just under the same cap. When I put up a version for a previous FO, people didn't seem to want a ship repairer.
Newton: Ship repair
Olympic: Crew repair
Newton: Ship repair
Olympic: Crew repair

The different phaser classes are more a reflection of how much power they dish out than how advanced they are, but obviously as they become more advanced and powerful the designations go higher. Although I agree in principle that an upgrade to a Mark VI phaser would be weak; it would be about equivalent to a Runabout. An upgrade to a Mark VII or VIII would seem more appropriate.

To me the Newton class does fit the role, just to me It could use a whole new design to better fit the repair-ship role.
Though I personally think that since the Federation is a very scientific race, they would have a whole bunch of support ships to choose from. I vote to make the Olympic another Support vessel, with the F.T.G. ability as its unique ability (I don't think any abilities would match it).

I like the idea of adding the Olympic class. But I actually don't have a good idea of giving it a unique role within the game. Federation can have up to three and a half support ships (with Maysons Norway and Nova) and the Newton is actually quite a cool little tug.
Also the original purpose of the Olympic in TNG's finale was medical support and it was entirely fitted for this, even the bridge had medical non-starfleet insignia.
Because of these two points, I actually came to the conclusion that the Olympic could become an addition to counter some Noxter or Ciadan vessels/specials when they eventually get into the game.

lol the crew repair intrigues me. Two supporting ships; Newton to repair hull and Olympic to repair crew. It would be interesting to see how it fairs against Assimilators. Can a veteran Olympic Squad remove the the Borg implants quicker than the Borg can inject them?
That's gotta be torture for the crew of the victim ship. Imagine being beamed back by an auto transporter only to be RE-assimilated and see yourself back on the Olympic. Back and forth, back and forth.
Unnamed TNG Yellow Shirt: I've been fragged three times by those pesky Borg but the Olympic keeps patching me up!
2nd unnamed yellow shirt: I know ! I'm on take 5!

i like the Olympic, but i favor the original TNG far over the image above. We have some plans for it for the future

I do like the idea... I think that it fits well with the Federation, but add in the ability to repair/enhance life support systems, since otherwise you're just sending the crew back to die anyway
I could easily see the federation evolving into the most support-heavy race in the game, since it fits with their scientific and economic mindset in the shows.
::edit: I think maybe the level three ability is a bit outside a medical ship's range... perhaps if it was -"Shield harmonics" which granted the ability to prop back up a ship's shields after they've gone down, or to reinforce them, (esp against the borg) to prevent hostile boarding.
or
-"Life Support Reinforcement" which allows the Olympic to enhance the life support systems of up to five surrounding vessels (handy for nebula trafficing)

It might be a fun warp-in, which doesn't really have any real support ships in the roster. Replacing the Newton (a brand-new ship design, I think) with an almost century-old counterpart is... less than brilliant.

I like the Olympic class starship personally is a different take on the standard saucer and nacelles that standard federation starships have. However i am not fond of what STO did to it but i would love to see it in the future.

Entered service in 2361 (according to Memory Beta), fleet Ops takes place in the mid 2390s, so over 30 years, but not a century.
The Nebula should be a support warp-in, but right now it just gets a sensor ability

I'm not a fan of extremly odd non-canon designs, the Newton looks way too thin and angular. Also it has the power and systems to create a repair beam with such a small ship, it makes too little sense that Starfleet couldn't fit those systems onto larger vessels really easily. Imagine a fleet of repair-equipped Sovies.

I think repair should be on a large, bulky, expensive, slow ship. Something at least the size of a Remore/Excel II and twice the cost.
