NPC ships being boarded to control it.

Will be possible the NPC ships be boarded????

It's a good idea the NPC ships be boarded, except the Species 8472 bioship.

Anyone agree??

Ive always been fond of the idea of stealing a ferengi marauder while it cruises along to pick up a derelict. I never liked that beaming crew over wouldnt allow for it to be captured.

we are working on an environment redo in the background at the moment, which will include a lot of new features to make space a bit more vivid. derelicts and mercenaries as well as neutral forces are strong candidates, of course :thumbsup:

Ferengi ships can't be boarded because you need to insert 10 strips of gold pressed latinum to activate the controls..

well, the feds have the best engineers, so at least they can control it. or they use all the lat in the engines to bring it to a ship yard for refitting

If I remember correctly, in some  maps for earlier FO versions the Ferengi ships could be boarded and recrewed. However till  the other races are added , redone ,  rebalanced and,the Dakora class gets a few more ships to support it as a race the Ferengi I feel will not be  able to be  boarded . Ive seen a few  mods at AFC ? that  had add on ships for the Ferengi, but they  are not compatable with the FO mod because  a lot of the ODF values and Ship Models /textures are  different .

Yeah, I think they did have a second D'Kora that was a normal ship. Boarding them would be easy; most are cowards any very few can defend themselves. Few would even try.

I feel  one should  be able to toggle the ability(NPC Boarding) on and off in AI games. Doing so could be a compromise for those who might be  playing with several live players , for the player who might  object to it in a purely  live opponent game. Personally I would love to see it  happen. I used to play  a lot of the maps that had  captureable NPC/Deralict  items in them. Oh the joys of  getting a Breen Shipyard , Unity One, station, Ferengi Marauder(Da'Kora).

I like the idea although it would give a substantial advantage to races with troopships and boarding specials (Tavara).

Not if the target is Ferengi, they'd likely flee at the first shot.
