I generally like strategic games and i played all kind of them and i think this game has big potentional...My generall opinion is 8 for the game but with new races and more choices to pick it could be amazing, and i think 1 of the best strategic space games.Something like:Bajorans,Betazoids,Ferengi,Vulcans,Cardassians,Andorians,Species 8472,Suliban,Trill,Xindi etc..:)There are really a lot of cool races..I know there is a looot of work on just little changes but still i think it would be  like touchdown in game world:)What can i say more, just to keep up the good work and make us happy:)Cya all and be happy :D

Hello and welcome to the forums :)

Yep, we are indeed working on many of the "minor" races in Star Trek to appear on maps, as neutral forces or as potential allies to trade and exchange technologies with :)

Hey Bica, welcome to the forum. It's always nice to greet new people and new ideas.

As for those ideas, the majority of the races you mentioned are in the federation (Bajorans, Betazoids, Vulcans, Andorians and Trill) so don't really see the point in adding them as independent factions.

The Cardassians are going to be added as a NPC faction.

8472 may be added as map unit. I think the debate on that is ongoing.

Suliban and Xindi never really interacted with the TNG/DS9 timeline and the only vessels we know of are 200 years old. Not sure if it would be a worthwhile addition.

Also, Betazoids, Trills, Vulcans, Andourians are all part of the Federation, they do not have their own race specific fleet.

Ye i understand that, but it would be interesting if they were solitary:)

The only ships of their own would probably be antiques or knackered transports used by diplomats/ pirates. If trade routes are put back in then maybe there would be room for a few different traderships. Cassidy Yates flying between warring factions making profit would be cool. :D

Really interesting, Utopia! I wouldn't have thought of so many ships for the pirates :P

However, I think there are 2 or 3 "Civilian" ships in there, would there be Civilians in some maps?

Well you'd wish you didn't have to explain these sorts of things. I just remembered an episode with dukat and kira having to over power a freighter to destroy a klingon bird of prey. The pirates indeed have that character. Stealing specials from other races is a fun concept.

Creating and balancing a new race is extraordinarily time-consuming work. The devs have their hands full with the current batch; anything more is a pipe dream. Not that dreaming is a bad thing.

yea, I only tried programing once and it is time consuming and requires lots a work. But we can dream of a do it all program that can analyze games. These races are from 2370 ST armada: Generations: Beta Pirates, Federation, The Alliance, Romulan, and Maquis.

Section 31 has shield pierceing transporting tech and cloaking. They are slower and more armored than the feds. Also includes the exeter class, excalibur class, and the J but I'm calling it enterprise class.
I just like to cream these ships from sto.
