The problem would be with all the extra features that avatar would have, that would mean that all the other races would need avatars that get tons of random ship designs too

How about a Romulan economics where they have slave Remans using the mining freighter and station so it is processed faster and has a higher crew population. Then use an idea from Nemesis where the Economics Rom gets an assault Ship full of Reman assault troops (Mine or fight for your survival). They would get more Dil and Tri so they would balance off the lack of Off or Def abilities. The second special ship should maybe be a cheap old design from the orginal Star Trek. The warbird with mostly reman crew so as to cost less supply. It would be able to be on par or slightly subpar of the Shrike. If people complain about the Reman excessive use then watch Nemesis. They were the slave population so do what the Romulans did and use Them.

It would be cool, if the avatars would really seperate from each others.
Yeah, I agree 100% I'd prefer if the avatars are as different from each other as in CNC Zero Hour. In that hame each general was a completely different gameplay style. US Airforce for example lost its tanks but got a cheaper airstrip plus cheaper and better planes with point-defence.
My vote for a third avatar would actually be a plain old vanilla avatar (standard avatar) and in-turn the other 2 currently existing avatars become vastly different.
Example is all of Optimizes ships are tougher and deal (slightly) more damage but have a weaker boarding strength and poor special energy regen rate. Then all ships before the sphere get a mini regeneration usable whilst not in combat with a high SE cost (nowhere near as quick as the Sphere's) power including the mining freighter which allows it to survive longer. Then assimilation could get better boarding srength, special energy max and regen and maybe get transwarp drive for all of their early ships including mining freighters which travel out and mine as normal, when they're finished they automaticalls teleport (transwarp) back to the mining station dock and immediately unload (like in CNC Red Alert 2 with the crono miners). See what I mean with big differences?

Why not make a complete Reman avatar with Thaleron weapons which drain the crew?

A Reman avatar would also conflict with future plans for FO:
On the Remans: what do you think those lovely, democratic Romulans would do with the Remans after the Shinzon conflict? Do you believe they will write the Remans an admonishment and that’s that? In the Fleet Operations Universe, the Romulans executed all Remans who held leading positions within the Empire and increased the brutality of Reman slavery on Remus. No Reman will ever see a starship again. The Remans (and the Scimitar) will be on some maps, but not buildable or part of the Romulans, and so will become an NPC faction and part of the campaign. For the fun part of the mod there will be a map object Scimitar that rips your base apart someday, just because we'd like to equip that vessel with some nice bad-ass weapons.

i think by this time that remans as slaves on ships is possible, and as marines for boarding. maybe the tavara marines could be remans.
but in charge of any ships, almost certainly not.

That's not what Ducky was suggesting.

you talking about the radiation cannon?
i dont want anything with the name thalaron. its stupid.
a different technology which can drain crew but not kill them all would be ok.

Tavara marines are the personal guard ... would seem kind of unlikely they'd be slaves
. Maybe a bonus to mining operations would be cool

I like the fed civ idea, with the warp-in staryard that calls refit older ships. as tech research options, most ships will have a refit tech option, like the rommies?
