Hi all,
I often read that you want to have new races, new avatars, new ships, etc.
Now here comes my Idea for that:
Can the developers change one Avatar of the Romulans to the Remans?
An then change some stations a bit and delete the supership which only can be built once or twice and add instead of this the scimitar?
I think in that way you can make many people very lucky and it is not so much work as when you have to develop a complete new race...
I ask this because with the Dominion we have also the "normal" Dominion and the Breen...

This has already been answered several times by the devs. The remans will not make it as an avatar. There are plans as far as i know to add the scimitar as a map npc unit, but that is as far as remans will go. Maybe in time the devs will change their minds ( i hope ) and add the remans as a third avatar for romulans, but i highly doubt it.

well, I'm still hoping that they will go with the anti-3rd avatar thing. Lor's renegade borg. Remans for the romulans, the renegade dominion, or cardassians, and terrians for the federations.

Star Trek Armada II: Fleet Operations - The Unnofficial 3rd Avatar Addon
This is the mosst wellthought suggestion I saw up to today.
And exchanging one of the romulan avatars is a most unfavourable suggestion. The existing avatars are never gonna be exchanged, as they are too valueble builts, as to trow away one of them.

yeah, There is a much older thread, that is abut twice as long about a kind of anti-avatar, that goes against the principles of the other twos.

I do like that idea. I does make a lot of sense. One could probably even make up fourth avatars. It would be cool to play as the Vulcans under the Federation, or as the Remans. I like the idea.

While I certainly would not object to a Xiomek avatar, considering that the Remans splintered off from the Romulan Star Empire in Nemesis (and in noncanon licensed work like the novels, STO, and "Countdown") and considering the major differences between Romulan and Reman culture and aesthetics, it might be more interesting to have them as a major NPC race (like the Cardassians and Tholians). That being said, I don't know their role in the FO storyline, which diverges from Trek "continuity" after "Voyager".
My thoughts on the third avatars:
Federation: Andorian admiral - science/exploration focus, granting Nova-class (fast anti-cruiser destroyer) and replacing Defiant with less powerful but craftier Incursion-class, sensor upgrade bonuses, yadda yadda.
Romulan: Sela - technological focus, with shorter buildtimes for Romulan research stations and technologies, maybe granting an assault ship to board enemy ships, then allowing their special weapons to be stolen at a special station.
Borg: Eliminate - attack focus, granting additional modules per ship and an Ultritium Burst Module for the Adaptor and Diamond effective against smaller ships, including construction ships and freighters, as well as the Command Cube (obscenely powerful battleship, limited to one, with an extremely slow buildtime).
Dominion: Son'a - defensive focus, granting the Son'a Destroyer (slow destroyer with artillery-range torpedo weapon) and Son'a Battleship (battleship with low offensive value and high defensive value, similar to the Descent-class, but armed with a subspace shockwave artillery-range weapon), along with defensive value bonuses to stations and a Countermeasures upgrade for construction ships to sharply reduce hitchance for enemy weapons.

While I would not want to replace an existing avatar with remans, I would not mind seeing a third Avatar - the Sela Avatar being a Reman mixed tech avatar.

There was reference made to Remans serving as shock troops for the Empire - perhaps the assault ship I suggested could carry Reman soldiers?

I think Optec said that the Romulans would never let the Remans out of their imprisonment after Nemesis... or something like that... who knows... maybe some map specific objects will be introduced

naw, Janeway would give the Dauntless as experimental warpin. maybe the armored voyager, and then you all die!!!

ah but the dauntless was not a federation ship
posted on July 5th, 2009, 11:11 pm
the dauntless was designed to be a federation ship, however I don't think the ship was actually called "USS dauntless" or even looked federation, so the ship could be based on designes from Voyager's databanks. Either way, Jain way never even saw the Prometheus. I just think the Dauntless would be cooler.
